Windows 10 Xbox app maximizes slightly off center? also will not resize from certain sides

    Hi there,

I have been having an issue lately where I can only resize the app from certain sides, which change frequently. Sometimes, only one side lets me resize, so I can only make it vertically larger or smaller and not horizontally larger or smaller. I am also having an issue where, when I click the maximize button, it will be maximized lower than it should be, so the bottom of the window is cut off and I can see part of my desktop above the window.

That's really odd. Well, now we know that's not an issue only with the xbox app

This can be a bit dumb, but did you tried using a different resolution in your PC to see how it goes?

Or, check if you are using a custom scale (Windows settings > system > display), if yes set it back to 100%

If none of the above applies to you, lets try this: (if one doesn't work proceed with the next)

    A. Reinstall your graphics card driver via manufacturer site

    B. (Can be odd) Open task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily

    C. Create a new local administrator user and try from there

    D. Run the SFC tool to find and repair possible system corruptions

    https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/for...

    E. Try uninstalling the most recent windows update, just in case it is the one that is causing conflicts (do it one by one, as soon as you delete one test the apps, then repeat) <Don't forget to turn off temporarily automatic updates>

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/rec...

    F. Perform an in-place upgrade for your system)don't worry your content will remain)

Thanks for the extra info. What about reinstalling the app?

    That doesn't work as well?

Or if you installed the app via Microsoft Store, install it from here instead:

    https://www.xbox.com/apps/xbox-app-for-pc

    --------

If maybe the issue persists lets try this (can be a bit odd but worth trying it)

    A. Open Task manager > select the startup tab > disable all the programs listed there temporarily

Restart your PC and check the Xbox app

    B. If that doesn't work create a new local administrator user in your PC and try from there:

    https://support.microsoft.com/windows/create-a-...

    C. Download the Insider hub app (https://www.microsoft.com/store/productId/9PLDP...)

Go to the previews tab > join to the Windows gaming program

(This is to download an insider build for the Xbox app)

Once you join, wait up to 5 minutes. Check for updates on the Microsoft Store and install the new updates for the Xbox app and all its services.

Finally check if the issue persists there, if not. Go back to an stable version (leave the program) and check again

Actually, my computer had a recent windows update, and it appears to be fixed! I can resize from all sides now and it is finally centered again

Thank you for all the help, though!

Unfortunately, that didn't work. I also found that the Xbox Insider Hub app had the same issue, it wouldn't maximize centered, and sometimes other Microsoft apps will have the same issue, sometimes they work fine.
