    Windows 10 Xbox App ERRORS: Cannot find gamertags that are known to exist


    As of the past couple of days my community members and myself included are not able to locate player gamertags via the Windows 10 Xbox app or the Xbox Game Bar. The outdated console companion seems to locate the gamertags just fine but even that is hit or miss since it always has issues even displaying the simplest of information. Can the Xbox team please look into and resolve the issue with gamertags not being found in search results. Thank you in advance,

    I have a feeling now that you're using Windows 10, and a number of key functional apps cannot be removed, even if you don't use them. This includes the Xbox app (now known as the Xbox Console Companion).

    Smartglass is more a legacy app and still exists for those on Windows Phone 8 or Windows 8 where the Xbox App does not (yet) exist. For Windows 10, you are right in that the Xbox App essentially replaces Smartglass.

    I am also finding that I cannot sign into my xbox app and cannot play the games. It has only happened recently and means that I cannot access it. I am on Windows 10 on a lap top.

    Having issues with this ever since trying to use chat inside of the app on a Windows 10 laptop. Cannot start or get into an existing party unless I try using the laptop and the console at the same time.

    Not possible. You can pay 10 dollars to change POGBait to a different gamertag but you cannot change your gamertag to an existing gamertag even if you OWN that gamertag.
