Windows 10 web conference: "Universal Windows apps come to Xbox One" (and maybe more)

With the conference still ongoing at time of writing, Microsoft have announced windows 10 apps will work on the Xbox One. Hopefully means apps like iPlayer coming out to both Windows and Xbox

Anything anyone else is hoping for? I'm hoping DirectX 12 will get a mention, but I doubt we will see it here.

NEWS: KODI coming back to Xbox

An announcement at a Windows Developer conference has revealed that team KODI is to resurrect its association with the Xbox with a Universal Windows Platform app set to come to Xbox One. Back where it all began.

The most frustrating thing about the Xbox, has nothing to do with gaming(what I'd like to see, functionality-wise)

Phil Spencer did mention at the Windows 10 event that if someone wanted to, they could run Excel on the Xbox One so we'll see,

I've not been following too closely but from looking on Twitter DX12 is getting talked about, good or bad I don't know lol

See cross platform is being mentioned, apparently Xbox One and PC players will be able to play Fable together.

Hopefully catch up with the news a bit more tonight/tomorrow.

Also, their headset, an occulus rift alternative called Hololens

hololens ia augmented reality rather than virtual reality isnt it?

Cross Platform will be good. Hope they allow voice communication too.

Streaming to windows device is also good but i need to be able to stream to another tv. Suppose i could connect my laptop to the tv and do it that way??

 

Would be good if they let you use a 360 as an extender for the xbox One!
