Windows 10 Update on Xbox One frozen during ACTIVATION

So, I downloaded the new update when I got prompted and it downloaded and started activating. From what I've noticed, the console restarted (very quickly) once, and then it continued activating but then this step got frozen. It's been 1 hour since it's frozen
at the same spot.

I don't know what to do, but to me it is clear that the console is frozen and won't continue the update. Do I restart it? I'm afraid of bricking it

Mine is frozen too at the "Applying Update" stage. Been like that for the past hour.

I just did a hard reset (hold the power button for about 5-10 seconds) and turned it back on and it completed the update,. Hope it works for you guys.

The free upgrade to Windows 10 ended in all capacities in 2017. Technically, there's currently no legal way to upgrade w/o purchase

While it's true, that Microsoft ended the free upgrade officially, they do not block you from activating your Windows 10 installation with your existing Windows 7 or 8 key.

So unless they actually block that, I'd assume they tolerate it still. Therefore there is no need to try to get Windows 10 from untrusty sources or use cracks or anything else what breaks Windows Update or gets "uncracked" by a Windows Update.

Unless Microsoft tells me during the installation that an entered key is invalid, or unless they stop activating Windows 10 with a Windows 7/8 serial key, I'd still do it.

just backup your important data in case anything goes wrong, and go ahead and upgrade to Windows 10.
