Windows 10 streaming - audio but no picture

Hi,

in the previous weeks streaming to Windows 10 worked fine for me, then I stopped using it for 2 weeks and now all I get is the sound, with no picture (so all I see is the Xbox app's green background).

I saw some other people complaining about this, some mentioned resolution related issues and codecs/filters related issues. However, nothing major changed in my system since it last worked.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this?

Windows 10 Streaming No Audio

Hi,

There are several reasons why you have no audio on Xbox App. It is possible that your settings are incorrect or you have a poor network connection. To properly isolate your concern, please clarify the following information:

• Is there an audio when you are just watching videos from the Activity feed
  on Xbox App?
• Do you have an audio if you use a headset?
• Do you have an audio when recording a game?

 

Windows 10 Streaming No Audio

I have audio on pc, but no audio on Xbox app. I saw a post about a year ago with the same problem. The person fixed there's by switching audio output to bitstream, unfortunately it says check audio receiver in error message. Not sure what all this stuff
means, would really like a solution.

 

Try power cycling your console by holding the power button for 10 seconds or until it turns off, boot the console back up, reboot your computer, open the Xbox App, the click on the Add a Device and re-select your Xbox One again. Try streaming afterward and
see if this fixes the problem. Thanks,

 

Thanks for the suggestion. However, I tried that several times before posting here.

 

You can try using the Windows Update Troubleshooter to see if any problems are identified. If so, fix the problems, try rebooting your PC, and test streaming again afterward.
Also, do you have any issues when you click on Test Streaming?

 

I ended up going back to a previous restore point before installing some applications, and it is working. I slowly started reinstalling the applications and I will update here if I find the culprit.
