Windows 10 Stream/Miracast

Hi all,

Wonder whether someone could give me some advice. Despite saying recenly on this forum that I would not buy a laptop just for the new features with windows 10/xbox one, my laptop which had been so reliable for a long time died at the weekend :-(. So, now
I am on the hunt for a new laptop and as I now have to buy one I may as well get one that's going to take advantage of the new features. This is where I'm after a bit of help. I only really want to use the laptop for the following:

Getting best out of xbox one feature that are available now, and as far into the future as possible;

ITunes;

Running DJ software;

HDMI port.

I don't want to spend a fortune if I can help it, but not really sure what things I need to look at for acheiving the first point.

Appreciate any help/recommendations people can give me.

XBOX ONE and Miracast

Has a release date for this app been set majornelson? Game stream works great, please release the miracast app!

Wireless Display

Yes where is this option? I have updated my Xbox One and my surface pro 2 to Windows 10 (which broke my ability to miracast via Intel Widi) so I was hoping this would be an option.

You won't need a high spec Laptop to use the Xbox One features of Windows 10. Any PC capable of Windows 10 will be able to use those features - including Xbox game streaming. Nor will you require an expensive laptop to use iTunes and DJ software. Pretty
much all modern laptops have HDMI out.

Im hoping in that case I may be able to just buy a new hdd for my Samsung r610 that broke as mentioned above in that case rather than look to buy a new expensive one. Was just worried I'd need to improve.

Have you had any luck with this yet? I am having the same issue. No matter what I try, I am unable to stream from the PC to my Xbox One using the wireless display app on the Xbox One. When I run the check on my PC running Windows 10, it states "Miracast:
Available, with HDCP" but it just will not work.

You can stream to an Xbox One console only if your computer includes Miracast support.
