    Windows 10 Pro 64, recording screen with XBOX APP


    Help!

    I am trying to record my screen. I press WINDOWS + ALT + R and the recording starts. But as soon as I start the game, the recording stops. I need to record from the desktop screen thru game starting and ending and back to desktop for troubleshooting purposes.

    How do I do that? I played all over with Windows 10 settings, GAMING section, CAPTURES section and I can't get the recorder to stay open.

    Hi,

    The built in Windows recorder isn't capable of recording the desktop in the way you mentioned.

    OBS Studio can though and it's free.

    If you have a dedicated graphics card, AMD and NVIDIA (depends on your hardware) both have recording software that can also do what you require. Plus they're easier to set up than OBS.

    From the Game DVR screen within the Xbox app, you can access and edit all game clips recorded on Windows 10, as well as clips shared from your Xbox One. Editing in the Xbox app is restricted to Trim at this time. For more info:
