windows 10 party chat

Same issue as seemingly a lot of other people. Get into a party on Windows 10 xbox app and can't hear anyone, and they can't hear me. Have my mic and speakers selected. As far as I can tell I am not getting any sort of error message. The sound just isn't
going thru either direction. Totally frustrating!

The party chat isn't working on my windows 10 pc

When i try to join / create a party chat on the windows 10 xbox app it says: Your network blocks party chat [0x89231806]

 

i had the same issue the fix that i found was to go to the windows store and search xbox beta. dl the beta app and run your xbox through that. It works side by side with the xbox app so there is no worries about having both on your win 10 pc. Hope this helps

I have had issues with the party chat not working till a couple of days ago. I had to make sure that the bitrate/quality setting in the advanced tab of the device settings for both mic and earphones were set to default. I tend to set a bit higher bit rates
for my devices, but it seems the xbox app can´t cope with anything but the default setting there. I hope this helps others with the same problem.
