    Oh herro,

It's been too long since I've been here so I've been out of the loop when it comes to community opinion. So yeah...

What do y'all think of Windows 10 and its interactions with the Xbox One?

I'm particularly interesting in the local streaming feature. While I do having a powerful gaming PC, my Surface Pro 2 isn't quite that powerful when it comes to gaming. Being able to stream to my Surface Pro 2 seems very nice to me. Also, being able to do
that local streaming could also help gamers broadcast their experiences without the use of external attachments. If you have a decent enough of a computer, you can record the local streaming and then do whatever you want to it; a nice feature for gamers with
decent gaming PCs but can't record and play at the same time.

The game streaming bring a lot of possibilities though. With Windows 10 being able to easily deploy games across all platform with relative ease, this feature can allow players with weak PCs (such as ultrabooks) to play computer games at higher quality using
the Xbox One. If developers allow for mouse + keyboard input in some of their titles, or just straight-up port PC games to the Xbox One, we could greatly increase the audience of PC gaming via the Xbox One.

My gaming PC, with its new AMD R9 290, can play the Homeworld Remastered Collection with great fidelity. My Surface Pro 2.... well, it struggles. I am willing to bet that the Xbox One can play Homeworld Remastered much better than my Surface Pro 2. If local
streaming would allow my weaker computer to play a PC game with good quality, then we've just enabled PC gaming for a large audience.

But yeah, there's my outlook for gaming with Windows 10. What are your opinions?

    :)

It's ridiculous that it's 2017 and there is no Pro Baseball game on Xbox

Agree, there is a void that needs to be filled.

The most frustrating thing about the Xbox, has nothing to do with gaming(what I'd like to see, functionality-wise)

Exactly my opinion as well. Let's say for instance that I don't like windows 10, should I then be able to install say, windows 7? Where does it end?

The issue is, that if they allow xbox games to be played on a PC it will cause alot of cheating. The other issue is they are allowing access to Live for free. This is a slap to the face of console users.

  5. The streaming feature will be nice for those people who find themselves fighting over the TV. Though why you just wouldn't play a PC game or game on a tablet is a question worth asking. Hell I'm playing Final Fantasy 8 on my phone.

Wont cause any more cheating than you get now. They aren't likely to allow all games to go cross-platform. I imagine Microsoft will have quite a strict list of requirements before allowing it.

Plus you have the PC gamers themselves, they aren't likely to be happy to wait for patches. So you'd get an instant version mismatch which would stop console and PC gamers playing together.

I am very disappointed that Microsoft is changing the xbox one operating system to windows 10.

I would not have bought the one if I had known this.

Now my xbox will be turned into a windows computer vulnerable to all of the hacking and viruses.

What's next, install Symantec anti virus?

    Daily security updates?

I have experienced years of trouble free service with the Xbox 360 and still use it.

  7. Your Xbox One currently runs on a variation of Windows 8, so why would the switch to Windows 10 suddenly bring all the problems you fear?

TRIMHORN, i don't think you'll be getting a Windows 10 desktop, relax Windows 10 opinions (fill me in) ;) i'm assuming it's the Windows kernel behind the scenes thats getting the biggest upgrade.

It's about choice. I personally would almost never be satisfied with a tablet game and an ultrabook can't run many games well.

As for gzowner and TRIMHORN... well... I'll leave them to their misconceptions.

@gameshoes3003.. I just dont like the idea of a PC person playing against me on a console. It opens up alot of cheaters to deal with. I was a PC gamer for years till all the cheats start to ruin the games. I had to suck it up or leave it, well i left it
to the cheaters and went to consoles. Even they have some cheating going on, its just people abusing the exploits in the game that makes it hard to play as well. I would rather play against people doing *** stuff outside of the map, than somebody can see through
walls, auto aim software, god mode, etc... Keyboard and Mice will out perform a console controller at any point if you know how to set it up.

Okay, you need to understand what the local streaming feature is. It's simply having the Xbox One play on a different screen in the network which could also happen to be a computer. The Xbox One is handling everything about the game, the computer does almost
nothing with it other than show it on its own screen. The computer cannot interact any more deeply with the game. If they were to cheat via local streaming, it would be using the same methods as cheating on the Xbox One.

Plus cross platform play is coming with Windows 10 anyway. While not all games will support this, Microsoft is pushing for some games, such as Fable Legends, to play between the Xbox One and the PC. I can understand some concern with that, but that has no
    bearing on local streaming.

  12. You know all those things you describe happened on the previous generation of consoles too? A brief search on Google will show you a slew of modded Xbox 360 games.

At the moment the Xbox One is thankfully free of harmful mods, I expect though it will be a matter of time.

I know the 360 is hacked to the point of no return. Even if you stream to your PC and using the monitor, your still using the PC components. The hackers are aware of this and give it a month in release, you bet your controller, there will be hacks out. I
can stream to my PC all day long with other things and can easy manipulate the outcome with a single click. it is coming and no way to stop it, just hope they allow only certain non FPS games to prevent the madness. Cause you know once its hacked, there is
no return and no way to stop it.

  14. At that point gzowner the PC would only be acting as a receiver, no more than an expensive TV as it were. There would be nothing to manipulate.

The cross-platform stuff could work brilliantly with a meeting of control methods and different roles.

Real-time tactics/strategy is suited to mouse and keyboard and if that genre met the FPS genre on console/controller -- ooo, it could be a thing in the future. PC players on mouse and keyboard can control armies with ease and rapidity, it would be the Battlefield
companion app tablet gameplay on a whole new level.

The new Fable will be doing the same thing won't it? The UI/controls for the evil side is suited to mouse and keyboard play while the heroes control brilliantly on console controllers. There's no advantage for the PC guys there. They'd just make better evil
dudes than console evil dudes... s'kinda fitting.

You'd want PC evil dudes for a better challenge and experience on console. =)
