Windows 10 logging into wrong Xbox account when launching games.

I have 2 Microsoft accounts each has its own Xbox account. My computer is logged into windows 10 using what I consider my primary Microsoft account.

I changed the store login and Xbox app logins to those of my secondary account. But when I launch a game it logs into Xbox using my primary account that Windows uses, I would like it to log into the secondary account’s Xbox account when playing games. Can
I change this?

Alternatively what are my options? Merging Xbox accounts or changing which Xbox account is linked to which Microsoft account? Perhaps transferring purchased items to a single account?

If you could please provide any guidance on how to go about resolving this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear about the issue with logging into Xbox Live on Windows 10. Please try this troubleshooting page,

0x87DD0005. error code received

When launching Microsoft Ultimate Word Games, I receive error message (paraphrased) unable to log into Xbox account with the error code 0x87DD0005.

There is no associated help with this error code.

It is important to note that I have already launched Microsoft Jigsaw (another Xbox game) and successfully signed into my Xbox account, solved the days puzzles and closed the app.

It is also important to note that I have already launched Microsoft Solitaire Collectionb (another Xbox game) and successfully signed into my Xbox account, solved the days puzzles and closed the app.

I retried launching Microsoft Ultimate Word Games after both of the successful logging into Xbox account twice as just stated.

I also see other Microsoft Ultimate Word Games are logging this same problem.

You'll need to set your Windows 10 account to a local account, and then change the Microsoft Account to the Xbox Live account that you want to use for games. To change how your account signs in, you can type Account Settings into Cortana and select the Change
Profile Settings option.

To clarify, there is an option to sign in with multiple accounts, but if you don't need to use both, I suggest only tying one MSA to sign-in/gaming to avoid any trouble like this.

The game will not show up on his account, no matter what he does. You have to log in with your account on Windows 10, then launch Minecraft, when the game has launched, log out of Xbox Live, and then he needs to log in. He should then be able to play the
game.

Ok, I tried the following and it worked, but not the way it should.

I created a new windows account on my PC and logged into the windows account. I then logged into the Xbox App using the same Xbox account which hasn't been working, as above, re-downloaded the game (Age of Empires IV) and the game launched just fine. I can play the game.

Hence, there is definitely something wrong with the original Windows 10 profile.

Does this help to try and troubleshoot?

This issue can occur when the account you are using on the Windows 10 version of Minecraft is not properly synced with your Xbox or Microsoft account, which is used to track your purchases on the Bedrock edition of the game. To fix this issue, try the following steps:

Make sure you are logged in to the correct Xbox or Microsoft account on both the Bedrock and Windows 10 versions of the game.

Try linking your Xbox or Microsoft account to your Windows 10 version of the game. You can do this by going to the "Settings" menu, selecting "Profile," and then selecting "Sign in with a Microsoft account."

Make sure that you are connected to the internet when you launch the Windows 10 version of the game.

Try restarting the game and your computer to see if that resolves the issue.

Same problem here as FummelOst. Cant connect to xbox live with either xbox one or app on windows 10, Also the Xbox one Smartglass seems to not wanna log in. When i log out from the account on Xbox one the store comes up but if and thats a big IF i can log
in again it dissapears. Nothing wrong with any internet connection.
