    @wild

    en.wikipedia.org/.../Fact

A fact is something that has really occurred or is actually the case. The usual test for a statement of fact is verifiability, that is, whether it can be demonstrated to correspond to experience. Standard reference works
are often used to check facts. Scientific facts are verified by repeatable experiments.

" Don't think even MS knows what they want to do with it. Same thing happened with Ilumi Room then it was hard to push as anyone would need a projector to use it. "

Know i know from previous experience you have trouble with search engines and using links to back up your facts so ive saved you the trouble.

    Microsoft HoloLens

    Empowering you to achieve more.

Microsoft HoloLens puts you at the center of a world that blends holograms with reality. With the ability to design and shape holograms, you’ll have a new medium to express your creativity, a more efficient way to teach and learn, and a more effective way
to visualize your work and share ideas. Your digital content and creations will be more relevant when they come to life in the world around you.

    Go beyond the screen.
As holograms, your digital content will be as real as physical objects in the room. For the first time, holograms will become practical tools of daily life.

Shape holograms to fine-tune a design. Interact with them to learn something new. When you share your ideas, show and tell from multiple perspectives. Microsoft HoloLens enables you to make decisions more confidently, work more effectively, and bring your
ideas to life right before your eyes.

    A new reality.
Microsoft HoloLens goes beyond augmented reality and virtual reality by enabling you to interact with three-dimensional holograms blended with your real world. Microsoft HoloLens is more than a simple heads-up display, and its transparency means you
never lose sight of the world around you. High-definition holograms integrated with your real world will unlock all-new ways to create, communicate, work, and play.

    Your world as a canvas.
Microsoft HoloLens intelligently maps the room you’re in, blending holograms with the environment around you. Pin holograms to physical locations you choose so that your room becomes the canvas for your holographic projects and games. With Microsoft HoloLens,
you can interact with holograms and everyday objects together.

A more natural way to interact.

There isn’t a screen to touch or a mouse to click. Use gestures to create, shape, and size holograms. Use your eyes to navigate and explore. Use your voice to communicate with your apps. Microsoft HoloLens understands your movements, vision, and voice, enabling
you to interact with content and information in the most natural way possible.

New ways to create what you imagine.
See your imagination come to life as a hologram. Effortlessly create your own holograms and share them with others. Use holograms to visualize how something will look in the physical world whether it’s a new piece of furniture in your home, a toy for
your kids, or a new creation for work. HoloStudio will even let you turn your holograms into physical objects with 3D print compatibility.

    Explore places you’ve never been.

Scientists at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory will soon be exploring Mars using holograms of Mars Rover images. They will work as if they can walk on the surface of Mars, an experience previously impossible. As a result, they will be able to learn at a
    faster pace than ever before.

A new way to see your world.

Holograms are the next evolution in computing. With this vision in mind, hardware, software, and user design engineers came together to create a new canvas for creators and developers. Microsoft HoloLens, together with Windows 10, introduces a powerful new
holographic platform. The era of holographic computing is here.

    This is just the beginning.

We are already working with creators and developers all over the world on exciting new holographic experiences. But we have just scratched the surface of what is possible. We invite you to join us on this journey. We have built the platform, but it is you
who will bring it to life. We can’t wait to see what you will do.

Hmm seems to me they know exactly what they are going to do with it.

You are right to be sceptical of any demonstrations so far as some say, they dont want this to look bad on stage but to say you supply facts without actually looking at what microsoft has shown or documented is just bias opinion.

    :)

Minecraft: Windows 10 edition crashing on startup

After updating Minecraft Windows 10 Edition to the latest version, it crashed a little after the Mojang logo appeared. The event logger says, it's a StackOverflowException (c00000fd) in ntdll.dll. I (as far as I remember) didn't set the game to fullscreen,
    before updating.

Did this happen to anyone else?

    Thank you!

    Problems with events

I have had two different problems with (Windows 10) theMicrosoft Solitare Collection, Events.

    Solitaire world tour for Jan 12 - 13 : Spider - Earn a score of 750

It had the normal 10 piles, but added a SECOND ROW of 7 additional piles, which could NOT BE PLAYED! I closed the window and re-opened it, but had to go through the re-load process and an additional advertisement before I could resume play!

In a previous Microsoft Solitaire Collection, events game I CLOSED the gaming window and was away from my computer for 3.5 to 4 hours, before resuming the game series. Your elapsed time counter counted ALL THE TIME that I was doing something else into my
total time for the events. I had NO windows open at all. Only the background processes that run after windows 10 finishes booting!

  4. Windows 10 Event: Before & After Discussion

@Rippen don't need search engines as Windows 10 press event been everywhere even in my mail. Bit of a waste of copying and pasting for you there Rippen. Seriously you should get a job working for MS what with all the work you put in defending and praising
and hyping you do for them etc.

But I'm sure they sell a few copies of Windows 10 without you.

As for HoloLens nice tech demo but nothing more, they not even confirmed if it intended for games as yet.

    Early days!

Not even confirmed for games yet? Seriously!? The tech demo had Minecraft in it! That's as "gamey" as you can probably get! *SMH*

  9. Yep and I think Phil Spencer has gone on record to say that they not decided what way to use the tech as yet Windows 10 as been mentioned. Holo Lens is designed as a stand alone product on it's own.

Best to concentrate on Windows 10 for now as that's really real and no doubt launching in 2015.

He has not actually said that.

    www.gamespot.com/.../1100-6424855

Speaking at an interview roundtable after the HoloLens unveiling, Spencer took questions about gaming applications for the device. He said that, while there was no specific strategy to announce, gaming features would be a sensible addition.

"To me, there's not a successful consumer electronics device on the planet where gaming is not a primary app category, and I think HoloLens will work the same way; I think gaming will be important

Wild...for someone who has admitted they know nothing of windows 10 (as i will research it when it releases) nor watched the W10 event (which outlines what W10 will do) and states nothing about XB was on that event( Shows you did not watch it ALL) but yet
you comment about its negatives like you know what you are talking about...

why are you like this... seriously... you have deep down issues that me and the guys here personally think you should get looked at before it it too late...

Windows 10 Event: Before & After Discussion

Do you guys actually believe there will be gaming applications for the Hololens anytime in the next 5 or even 10 yrs?

I can see it being used for applications that are more on par with Google Glasses and going well beyond what they are capable of doing but I think even MS knows that it's impact on gaming isn't coming anytime soon which is why they demo'd it during the
Win 10 announcement rather than one geared more towards gamers.

I think VR headsets are going to be the first major innovation we'll see that impacts gaming. I've used the Oculus Rift several dozen times now and it works but has limitations. When you compare it to the Hololens it's obvious the sci-fi leap the Hololens
makes. The biggest issue is it's a stand alone device and they'll need to put a PC in a pair of glasses before we'll be playing CoD in our living room.

I personally think it will be put in games, but not in the way many of you think. To me it seems it will be utilised for things like say, in game stats, heads up display, and thing of that nature. Instead of have all that stuff on screen taking up veiwing
space like in the conventional way it's always been, game companies will be able to intergrate it so it's almost a seperate thing. You may even be able to change weapon load outs and gear by bringing up a seperate dispay instead of having to back out of a
main screen. These would be the simplest uses for the device as far as gaming goes!
