  1. Windows 10 Creators Update FAQ

Hey everybody! The Windows 10 Creators Update is coming and along with it will be a huge update to gaming on Windows 10. With all the changes coming, we wanted to make sure you guys have answers to some of the most common questions.

Q: Where did the Game DVR settings go?

A: Game DVR settings have been moved from the Xbox App to the Gaming section of Windows Settings. To get there select the Start menu, select Settings from the bottom left, and then Gaming in the middle of the Settings.

Q: What’s the new icon on the Game Bar?

A: This is the Broadcast button and it allows users to quickly and easily stream their gaming directly to Beam. If you have never used Beam before, pressing the broadcast button will create an account for you.

    Q: What is Game Mode?

A: Game Mode is a new feature that aims to maximize user’s gaming experience by isolating the CPU and prioritizing the GPU. Accessed through the Settings, Game Mode works to increase overall frame rate performance.

Q: I have turn Game Mode on but don’t notice a difference in performance, why not?

A: Make sure to enable Game Mode for each individual game you would like to use it with. To do so, open the game of your choice, open the Game Bar by pressing Windows + G, select Settings on the Game Bar, and check the box for “Use Game Mode for this game”

Q: Can I access the Game Bar in a full screen game?

A: Yes, with the new Windows 10 update, over 80 games support the Game Bar in full screen. To enable this feature, select Gaming in the Settings, and check the “Show Game bar when I play full screen games Microsoft has verified” setting. For more information

Q: What happened to the OneGuide button in the Xbox app?

A: OneGuide, including the guide, TV controls, and TV streaming, were removed from the Windows versions of the Xbox app. To use OneGuide on Windows, get the Xbox One SmartGlass app
in the Windows Store. OneGuide is still part of the Xbox app on
    iOS
    and
    Android

  5. Does this mean SmartGlass will be updated? Also should we expect OneGuide to go missing one day without warning, should I ignore all future updates on Android if I want OneGuide functionality?

That's a real shame about having to back to using Smartglass for TV streaming. I can't imagine that the resource hit in the Xbox App was so great that it required removing. Now we have to use two apps to get the same functionality as before? That's not
really a great user experience, is it......

Microsoft Ultimate Word Games Keeps Crashing after Latest Microsoft Update

    Hello!

What do you mean by latest Microsoft update? For the game? Windows Updates? Creator's Update? If you're not currently running the Windows 10 Fall 2018 Creator's update, I would definitely recommend installing that.
