    Windows 10 "Cast to device" xbox not showing up to stream movies from pc to console


    Hello everyone







    For the last 5 months I am unable to stream movies from my windows 10 pc to xbox one console it worked fine for a very long time know i cant figure out how to get this option to work again I have tried many tech support agents but no one can help
    me troubleshoot this issue any ideas on what the fix for this problem is? could it be my firewall network setting ect ect?

    Windows 10 Unable to find Xbox one in Devices (Cast to option)

    Recently downloaded Windows 10, and im trying to stream a movie on my PC to my Xbox one over the WiFi in my home. Before i updated to windows 10 from windows 7, I was able to do this easily with the play to option. I see the similar cast to device
    option but my Xbox one cannot be found. I have the play to option selected under preferences on my console, the video app open, and both devices are connected and working on the WiFi. The new Xbox app from windows is able to find my console and i have access
    to the new game streaming feature which works fine. Under devices and find device within the control panel, my Xbox one is no where to be found. I understand that this may be a firewall issue but i have done all i know to do so any help is greatly appreciated.
    I know additional information will be needed to help resolve this issue and i will respond asap. Thank you.

    Connecting an XBox 360 to a windows 10 PC

    If you are talking of movies you have purchased from the Films & TV app, then you do not need to do anything, as the Xbox 360 and Windows 10 have their own Films & TV app, just log in on the device you want to watch those movies, and then launch the app.
    Your movies should show.

    If you have movies that you have purchased elsewhere and using the app to watch them. You only need to turn on the play to option on the xbox 360, then when you start the app on Windows 10, start a movie, then in the bottom corner of the film there will
    three dots. Select it, and choose cast to device. The Xbox 360 should show up. select it, and it should play on your console.

    I am not ready to upgrade to windows 11. Cast has always worked on windows 10 and now after an update to the Xbox Console (to replace groove music with Windows Media Player) cast no longer works. Note, this isn't isolated to my windows 10 devices. No UPnP devices (Android, IOS, etc) are able to cast to the Xbox One console.

    Hi Charles you can watch movies with the Microsoft Movies and TV app on your device. Also you can stream media by casting it to a device.

    Hi again. I wish you could explain to me how to do this. My TV displays our cable on HDMI1. We have our Google Chromecast device connected to HDMI2. When we want to stream content from our phones or laptops, we switch the TV to HDMI2, and the streaming apps connect automatically. When I try to stream this Microsoft movie (Sorcerer, 1977) to the Chromecast on HDMI2, it says it can't connect. Likewise, just trying to cast it to the TV via HDMI1 does not connect, either. The only other ports available are InputAV1 and InputComponent, neither of which have a device connected, but the movie will not connect or cast to either of those. Please help me to be able to cast this movie from my Surface laptop to my Chromecast (in HDMI2 port on Samsung Smart TV). Also, is there any way I can access the movie on my Samsung S21 smart phone?
