Windows 10 and Xbox 360

Sorry I am unaware of where to put this.

I had my Xbox 360 connected through an ether net cable to my laptop and was using my laptops wireless connection. I just updated to Windows 10 and now I cannot connect anymore. I get an IP address error. Can anyone help.

Are you trying to stream a game from Xbox 360 to Windows 10? That's not supported - the media center of old was for streaming videos and songs.

There is a way to stream Xbox 360 games to Windows 10, but it involved using an Xbox One and playing the backwards compatible Xbox 360 on the Xbox 360, then streaming the Xbox One to Windows 10.

Did You tried already to reconfigure Your laptop network?

In Windows 10 such setup can be done in two different ways, by creating bridge between wired network card and wireless network card or by using internal Windows mechanism to create gateway on one of interfaces.

What path did You chose?

 

Hi, I'm having the same problems as this user, and I'll try to be a bit more specific.

Previous was connecting to Xbox live on my 360 using an ethernet cable to my Windows 7 PC. I had achieved this by making my wireless network connection shared in the properties window.

Decided to take the plunge and update to Windows 10. Network still shows as shared in the network connections window, settings are still the same on my xbox, but the xbox will no longer connect. There is no error code but it states the "suggested solutions"
are all around obtaining an IP address.

I've since tried to set this manually and leave on automatic, but neither will allow the xbox to connect to the network anymore.

Any assistance appreciated.

Okay sorry it has been a while since I posted.

I have decided to build an ether net hub at the router and connect the Xbox directly to the router.

The only conflict I can find between the old and new setup is Xbox give me an IP address of 192.168.ab.cd(changed numbers to letters for security)

Windows 10 says my ether net port has an IP address of 192.168.ef.gh. Not the same IP address as the Xbox.

I do not know if this will fix any problems for others who might be having the same problem or help those trying to help us figure this problem out.

Can You clarify to me please, is Your issue is fixed now?

Internal IP's can't be accessed from outside, so no security issue with posting them clearly. Because You use private network range, that used in all devices across the world.
