    Windows 10 and xbox 360 media centre


    Hi For many years I've been using Windows Media Centre with my Xbox 360. From Vista then Windows 7 then Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Centre

    I looked at play to on Windows 8.1 first. It was a pain in the neck because I had to go upstairs to my office start the streaming then go back to the living room. Playing natively on the 360 from shared folders on the PC was no good because it doesn't support
    a lot of my files.

    ... so I upgraded to 8.1 Pro with Media Centre.

    I understand Windows 10 will not come with Media Centre support ... are there plans to introduce it later ... is there some other way to connect Media Centre .. ?

    Hi

    Your Chrome Book might allow DNLA streaming, which the Xbox 360 will support.

    However the in-built Media Centre functions are designed for the Windows Media Centre add-on to Windows XP/7/8, Windows 10 doesn't support it.

    Question regarding Windows Media Center

    If you have a PC with Media Centre and a Xbox 360 then yes, it is still working.

    The feature doesn't exist though on Windows 10 or Xbox One.

    microsoft has apparently done away with windows media center so that you have to go out and buy an xbox one to do the same thing you used to do with win 7 and 8, it is a scheme to sell more mirosoft stuff, dont upgrade to win 10 it is so full of this kind
    of crap, win 10 is not an os as much as a marketing tool to sell ms products

    Is it possible to get AVI files to play via Windows Media Centre through my 360??

    if you have windows 7 then media centre will stream near enough everything apart from mkv's, if your using xp media centre then download runtime 360 to your pc and that will give you the option to watch avi on the xbox through media centre but it converts
    the file on the fly.
