win10 Xbox game bar not recording with GPU

I found the game bar for recording videos a week or two ago. (winkey+G) Niffty little program. But after installing an Radeon hd 6850 graphics card (and updating its drivers) the record option is no longer available. And on the xbox bar performance window
it reads the gpu at 0% as tho is simply doesnt register it, even tho the PC its self does. If i take out the gpu and go back to the integrated thn it records jsut fine again. But not with the gpu in the pc.

So how do i get this to work with the gpu installed?

That depends on what you mean by 'cheaper'.

AMD

HD 7700 series and upwards

NVIDIA

GTX 600 series and up

Probably cheaper to get a second hand card from eBay if cards cost are your concern.

While your GPU and CPU are not evenly matched, even a HD 6850 is better than an Intel HD 4400 (your iGPU) for gaming, well older games anyway. The HD 6850 can't record video in realtime using the codec Windows uses. It's not compatible.

If you want to play modern games, and record them, you'll need a modern GPU.

The last 'new' game i played was ff11. Which came out in 2002. So im guessing there isnt much difference visually from the 'older 2010 gpu' or the 'newer integrated'. Tho i havnt been able to play in a long while due to rl ****.

that putting higher strain on the graphic. So mine as well get my recording feature back.

I would be interested to know the rest of your system spec?

The AMD 6850 is a very old GPU from 2010. It likely doesn't have a hardware based video encoder, which would explain why it can't record video via the Game Bar, but once it is removed your integrated graphics can because your CPU (or APU) is newer and has
this built in.

But, I would be better able to tell you if you advise what CPU you have.

the device manager lists the processor as a intel core i3-4150 cpu at 3.5 ghz

This was a referb comp i bought off someone. Before this i was still using a win7 (which had crashing issues) and a win xp comp (was still working fine.) But non the less, i figured an upgrade was in order. My wallet didnt agree however. - The graphics card
was something i had extra. The pc did not come with one so i figured id give it a shot. If the card is that old, would it be better to use the current integrated instead?
