win xp wont recognize xbox 360 wireless controller.

I have installed the drivers from the windows site, followed all the suggested trouble shooting tips, and it still is not recognizing my controller.

I have had my pc auto install the driver in addition to going to the microsoft website for manually installing drivers. I know that the pc knows that the controller is connected cause it makes that little jingle whenever my contoller is connected/unconnected
from the usb port for the charging cable.

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Connect Xbox 360 to Win 8

I have upgraded to Win 8 on PC. My PC picks up the Xbox on my Home Network but my Xbox wont pick up my PC.

I have told PC to shear all file with exceptions to doc's. My laptop also is running Win 8 and has picked up Xbox but Xbox can't find the laptop.

I have an older PC running win XP this also is on my Home Network it does pick up Xbox and the Xbox recognizes Win XP.

Is this a simple issue to fix or do I have to but Win Media Center, How can I fix this issue?

My Xbox 360 wont recognize my wireless controller.

I tried to use a Pc Wireless Gaming Receiver so i can play Sonic Adventure DX and some other games with a controller, but it turns out it failed, and now my controller keeps trying to connect with the receiver and my xbox at the same time, so it doesnt know
which one to choose.

Hi, when I purchased my "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" it came with a USB receiver that I've needed to have plugged in even when using the Play and Charge kit. Are you using this receiver or just plugging your controller into the PC?

I was just using the charging cable and didnt think i needed the receiver. boy do i feel dumb... thanks btw.

Is the controller a wireless controller or wired? If it is wireless, how are you connecting it? If by using the play & charge kit, then the Xbox 360 controller will not work, as the cable is only recognized on PC for charging only. You need to use a Xbox
360 Wireless adapter for PC to connect a wireless Xbox 360 controller to your PC.

If the Xbox 360 controller is a wired controller, then the controller can be used on the PC, just plug it in the USB port, and it should recognize it and let you use it. If it is a wireless Xbox 360 controller, then you will need the Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows to connect the controller to your PC.

Is your Controller. wired or wireless? If you've plugged your wireless Controller in using a play and charge, im affraid you're out of luck. The 360 wireless Controller remains wireless It can't be made Into a wired controller.

All windows versions after Windows XP have the Xbox 360 controller drivers pre-installed, there is no driver to install.
