Win+G to Record Error-Gaming Overlay

Record only works for 9sec then error message #2184327190 Xbox gaming overlay! I have a new laptop and cannot record. But can record on my older desktop. How can I resolve this error?

XBox Gaming Overlay Error

Ok this is my last ditched effort on trying to figure out this error I have been getting with the XBox gaming overlay.

Every now and then I can record my games no problem, but there have been cases where the gaming overlay will try to record the game I'm on and after about 10 seconds it will stop and give me the following error:

Recording isn't working

Error: 2184327175

I have tried looking up the error code on line as well as in the error code look up and got basically nothing. I have tried to end the task for the gaming overlay, still didn't work. I had to resort to restarting my laptop to get it to work but I really
didn't want to have to do that.

Does anyone have any information on this code and what to do about it?

Hello

I try to use the xbox gaming overlay inside a virtual machine (virtualbox) to record an application but it isn't working.

The error message is also quite cryptic "Error: 2184327190", what does it mean?

Although Microsoft will most likely advise against it, the only thing that worked for me was reverting back to the previous settings for windows....everything else failed and was extremely frustrating! Good luck

We understand that you are having trouble recording Game Bar overlay while recording with Game Bar itself. I'll be happy to assist you with this.

To record Game Bar overlay while recording with Game Bar itself, you need to enable the "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar" option in the Game Bar settings. Here are the steps to do so:

1. Press the Windows key + G to open the Game Bar.

2. Click on the Settings icon (gear icon) on the Game Bar.

3. In the Game Bar settings, make sure that the "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar" option is turned on.

4. Also, make sure that the "Record audio when I record a game" option is turned on if you want to record audio along with your gameplay.

5. Once you have enabled these settings, you can start recording your gameplay by pressing the Windows key + Alt + R.

Please note that not all games support Game Bar overlay recording. If you are having trouble recording Game Bar overlay while recording with Game Bar itself, it could be due to the game not supporting this feature. You can check the game's display settings to see if there are any options related to Game Bar overlay recording.

it activated it in the settings, but I can't use it for anything like recording. it doesn't even open when I press Win+G.

Everything comes up..the whole lot. ive just set up msi afterburner for on screen display hopefully that will display fps unlike nvidia geforce

also when win g is pressed my controller moves about on the bar at the top so cant play game until i click mouse on main game screen,then overlay vanishes
