Problem:

Chrome browser is apparently remembered as a game by XBOX Game Bar and I want to undo that for Chrome or any other app.

I've read it should be as simple as going to Game Bar, Settings and uncheck "Remember this is a game". However, the settings dialog box doesn't show that option.

Why could that be and how to fix it?

Is there another place (registry, config file for Metro App) where we can check what .exes (Apps) are remembered as a game?

Note: Maybe the Game bar appears for Chrome running initially for whichever .exe file is running, but later if we press WIN-G the .exe running at that moment is not the same as before. In other words, it's not always chrome.exe. So that requires we look at
the place where those "Remembered as Game" associations are stored.

Any help appreciated, thanks.

Disturbing messages from Xbox app

The problem is, Windows 10 has identified chrome as a game window. Perhaps you once used it to record your screen or hit the windows key+G accidentally while in chrome.

To disable the game bar completely, you can go to Settings > Gaming > Game Bar and click the toggle that says "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using game bar" to disable it.

To disable it from popping up in chrome whilst leaving it activated for other games/apps, you can hit the windows key+G and in the overlay the appears, click the cogwheel and then uncheck the box that says "Remember this as a game"

Furthermore, if you want to stop the xbox app from running at all, you can sign out of the app and it will not load up in the background.

The check box for "Yes, this is a game" only appears when you open the Game Bar using
Windows + G for the first time after turning on your computer.

If you want it to be shown again, you need to end the Game bar process in the Task Manager. Here's how:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc on your keyboard.

Under the Processes tab, highlight Game bar.

Click the End task button, and then close the Task Manager window.

Press Windows + G on your keyboard again.

If games aren't being recognized by Xbox Game Bar, you can add it to the games list. To do so, you'll only need to launch the game, and then
open Game Bar (Win + G), open Settings > and tick
"Remember this is a game".

Xbox Overlay is really the "Game Bar", and when you press Win+Alt+B it's a shortcut designated in Game Bar to begin broadcasting. So either you can press Windows+G and open the game bar and select Settings from there, and either change the shortcut for
broadcasting, or you can use the settings to link your account to a Mixer account to start broadcasting when you press the button.

Hello!

I successfully re-downloaded the game service, but when I try win+G, it still doesn't work, Settings-Game-Xbox Game Bar to Enable Xbox Game Bar for things like recording game clips, chatting with friends, and The The receiving game invitations switch still closes automatically, please provide me with a new solution!

I have already scoured that webpage to no avail. Nothing I do will open xbox game bar. In task manager I can see when I press win+G xbox game bar will appear as running and then immediately show as suspended. No current guide on the internet has solved my problem so far.
