Win 10 xbox app not using gpu.

Hi.

This is my first post.

I'm having issues with playing xbox windows anywhere games on my pc. This is only xbox app games.

I have halo wars 2 and gears of war 5 and everytime I play the games they open in the integrated amd graphics and not the amd radeon discrete switchable graphics card. I purchased these codes which use the xbox app on my Windows 10 laptop.

Steam I have no issues with and all my games like doom and forza use gpu.

Any ideas how I can force my laptop to use the gpu for xbox app games.

Figured it out. In radeon settings there was a global settings tab and I was able to over ride what the system chooses. I have now changed xboxapp.exe to radeon R5 and can run the games.

You try reinstalling the driver or disabling the gpu driver in device manager, i never have i dont know if disabling would cause

your pc crash or if it would revert to microsoft basic display driver.

I was having simlar issue using xplit broadcaster . Even when you told it what gpu to use it would still use gpu 0. It is probably set in apps

code to use the first gpu.

Hi,

Can you still please tell us your Laptop make and model. That image looks to me like your Laptop only contains one GPU, which is the Radeon R3.
It won't have two Radeon R3's.

A Radeon R3 is a really basic GPU, I would be very surprised if the Gears 5 tech demo would even launch on your system, let alone run. Please provide some more information please.

The option is not in bios but I am trying to figure out how to do it in settings within windows 10.It detects onboard radeon shared graphics as display one so working around trying to make the gpu primary. Like a maze compared to the XP days when I was
fond of building etc
