    Win 10 Microsoft Store Xbox Beta Move Game Installation Folder


    For anyone that still hasnt gotten news of this work around, as its hard to find the right terms for a search...

    Under Win 10 if you want to move your app/game from Microsoft Store or Xbox Beta you have to go into the text search below, search for "settings", be sure to have the tab "apps and features" open, look for the game you want to move.

    You can then click on the game and will see a "move" button below (right under the game), click it and you will be able to select a hard drive of your choice.. not sure its USB supported.

    But i cant find any other way to actually move the folder through drag'n drop.. as i somehow DONT HAVE AUTHORITY on my computer. thank you Microsoft for being the boss of the administrative sector... i feel like i dont own this pc.

    And no, i am no know it all. If you have questions, please dont ask below. This is purely the solution i found in one post badly explained.. so .. i cleaned it up after google and more google.

    you cant, it does not work like the other launchers even win 10 to win 10, the encrypted folder is tied to that one installation if you reset windows or format then you have to delete and redownload all the games.

    There is no way of transferring games from one install of windows to another for gamepass or windows store installations. yes it sucks.

    Hi Rafael. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

    These folders are required by the Xbox app and Microsoft Store in order to install and run your games. 2 of them must be located at the root of the drive, unfortunately they cannot be moved to a custom folder.

    The XboxGames folder can be moved. Open the Xbox app, click your profile in to the top right and select Settings > Install Options. From here you can choose the default drive to install games on, and select 'Change Folder' to move the XboxGames folder to a different location.

    You dont as they are runed thru the xbox app not windows store
    That doesn't matter. True, they are installed and managed by the Game Pass Beta app, but the games still install to the same hidden Windows Apps folder as standard Windows 10 apps.

    To gain access you need to change some simple admin privileges.

    I even can not start the ms store.

    Before I wanted to install the xbox beta app, I had to install WIN 10 update. After that I had several problems (sound driver etc.). I fixed them.

    And now the store does not start. Typical Microsoft. I don't know what else to do.

    You could try seeing if you can install the Xbox Beta app from the store. Also check to make sure you're running an up to date version of Win 10, as the GamePass Ultimate is being rolled out progressively. Mine is 1903 18362.239, and I am able to use the
    Beta app, and install GP games.
