The Elder Scrolls Online Imperial Edition announced! See what's included!

Seems really expensive to have to pay a monthly subscription fee. I already have to pay for Gold and now I have to pay additional subscription fee? This one big rip off if you ask me, I'm not buying this as much as I love Elder Scrolls. It's too much for me too handle.

  3. Is Microsoft allowing Elder Scrolls Online to be played without Xbox Live Gold?

Also I should state that I don't pay for the yearly subscription for Xbox Live Gold, I pay for 3 month Gold. So technically I would be paying a pretty penny to pay for Xbox Live Gold and monthly membership for ESO yearly.

  4. Will You Pay A Monthly Subscription (When You're Already Paying For LIVE)?

Personally for me after getting a taste of The Elder Scrolls Online beta, I have no problem with paying the $15 dollars a month on top of the Live and the game cost. The game kept me entertained to the point i stayed up for 48 hours playing it XD. The game
was all to enjoyable and felt like a good Elder Scrolls game Will You Pay A Monthly Subscription (When You're Already Paying For LIVE)? :)

I will be happy to pay the fee no problem!

Its standard fare for any decent mmo, and don't kid yourselves, f2p models suck! I was a player of SWTOR right up til they went free to play, then stopped as the community died.

My main concern was that it wasn't cross platform, and as such had decided to get it on PC for fear of lack of community on console etc.

However after playing beta more I feel Xbox version will be just fine. The game lends itself well to pad and big TV etc, and that's what I want. Still a bit worried about the community long term especially with people *** about the sub on top of live. I
mean is there anyone who doesn't pay for live already? This sub is for the game, not Microsoft.

If you don't get the sub thing, nor wish to pay it then pass on the game, or play it on PC or ps4. Just stop complaining about it. To wish ESO to go f2p is to wish it to fail

  6. I was really amped for this game UNTIL i heard about the SUB FEE. I say this for one reason and one reason only, they're saying this game is going to be around for awhile (like destiny) for around 5-10 years is what the life span of the game is, so to do
a little math you spend 65 dollars for the game (normal version) and 50 dollars a year for GOLD MEMBERSHIP. So we're at $115, Now DLC for THIS game is FREE so no need to worry about that, BUT now they want to charge a SUB FEE, $15 a month, total that up that's
$180 for the Year to play the game, add that to $115, we're at $295.

$295 to play the game for ONE YEAR and thats if you don't get the Imperial Edition, and if you get that then you just add $90 to total so for those guys, $385 for ONE YEAR

Factor in the fact that its gonna be around for Ten years, We'll put the GOLD MEM. FEE on the side but for 10 years it's $500, now keep in mind this isn't entirely for ESO but without GOLD you can't play it so you technically need it. So for the SUB FEE
its $180 a year for ten years its $1800 just for the SUB, add that to initial investment of $65 for the Game and it's a grand whopping total of $1865 JUST TO PLAY THE GAME, and like i said you can't play without Gold so add back on the $500 for the GOLD MEM.
FEE and we're at a new STAGGERING TOTAL OF $2,365 for EVERYONE WHO PLAYS THIS GAME FOR 10 YEARS, that bought the normal edition of the game and $2,455 for those that buy the Imperial Edition.

Now i don't know about you guys but I for one think Bethesda is getting WAY TOO GREEDY, lets say if just 1 million people bought and played the normal edition of this game for ten years, that's $2,365,000,000. So for people like me who have never seen that
number in our bank accounts i write it for you, That's Two Billion Three Hundred Sixty Five Million Dollars. That's only if 1 million people bought this game and there is 300 million people who live in america, not to mention all other countries that are gonna
have this game, I don't even wanna add up those numbers i'd probably have a heart attack. It would be in the trillions.

  8. Will You Pay A Monthly Subscription (When You're Already Paying For LIVE)?

I can pay $15 a month for ESO, because I will only play it for a few months to get achievements and to try out expansions for the game when they are released! If you cannot afford $15 dollars a month for a sub fee so be it! $15 dollars is nothing!

  9. It's not that i can't afford it, its that im against the Gaming industry being greedy, I mean thats how DLC started, most everyone was against it but enough people bought into and now there isn't a game released that doesn't have DLC, and if they do this
now, its only gonna get worse. All the big name games will require you to pay a SUB FEE in the next 5 years I GAURANTEE IT,

Even for the biggest game like COD you pay $60 for the disc and $50 for the season pass and thats its $110, and people have grown used to it , but with these sub fees your gonna pay that PER YEAR and i will NEVER get used to that

  10. And another thing about the sub fee, a good point my friend brought up, YOU HAVE TO PAY $15 a month Every month to play this game, BUT what if you aren't on for the majority of the month, he's a trucker and is only home about a week and a half to 2 weeks
at a time then he is on the road. So why should he have to pay the sub fee for the whole month when he can only really play the game about 6-7 days out of the whole month and only about 2-3 hours a day at that because he has kids.

For him it would be a waste to even buy this game if your forced to pay a sub fee because he would just be wasting money, paying to only play for about 12-14 hours a month, it would make more sense to make the sub fee for say every 24hours played instead
of playing monthly, Not actually 24 hours of real time, i mean 24 hours of GAME TIME. That would eqaute to about the same price for most people and would keep from *** over people who wanted to play but didn't really have alot of time to do so

I don't have a problem paying it for a short bit. There's no way to avoid the devs being greedy. They are gonna get it from us one way or another.

    Nothing in life is free.

The people that made this game deserved to get paid, even for the upkeep of it .

Some of the bigger MMO's require a monthly sub, but I will also be playing other xbox live games so it wont really matter

Many here have pointed out very good reasons for paying the extra. After giving it, some thought. Are not all the games supposed to be high quality? Call of Duty and Dead rising offer extras for payments but you can still play and choose not to participate
in the extras. I fear once we open the door of agreeing to pay extra for a so-called better game than pay we will. Money may not be that big of a deal. We have paid $500 for a machine and service and now we are to pay more for a quality game. I can afford
the $15 but it is a matter of principal. Will all games soon be extra to PLAY? I have not seen anywhere a clear explanation of why more money should be paid.

I believe the extra cost is attributed to expansion and upkeep of the game and associated servers. If I don't see this happening during my paid subscription time, I'll certainly stop paying. That said, if I stop paying that also means I'll stop playing.
If they don't keep up their end of the bargain, I'm pretty certain I won't be alone and the game will not be as successful. I'm okay with it so far but as you pointed out, there are other online games that I will only play once and then pay for DLC if I want
to play on. The same discussion goes on for the high cost of DLC. I think we're all programmed to want games to be cheaper but at the same time we keep paying the higher cost for the same content.
