Will you get Preorder DLCs if you buy digital versions? (e.g. Thief)

Hi! I finally got my Day One DLC Codes (Thank you very much!) but I wanted to ask if you will get other Preorder DLCs too.

I want to buy Thief (end of February) and if you preorder it in stores you get a companion app and bonus DLC. But will you get this if you buy it in the Games Store or was this only for Day One Games.

PS: Will Thief be in the store at launch day?

Why no details about digital games, preorders and DLCs?

I bought Xbox One and wanted to go full digital but why can I not preorder or dont get preorder bonuses for digital purchases? Boxed versions are cheaper with more content and no one knows details for digital games. Does Elder Scrolls Online come to the
Store, do you get 5 day early play (but how if you cant preorder), do you get PreOrder DLCs for Fable Anniv. or Thief? I thought with Xbox One you should be able to have all games digitally, but why do you still prefer customers with physical copies? It seems
Publishers, Game Developers and Xbox Support does not know the details how it will work.

Please make it clear for everyone and tell us how it works.

PS: It would be nice if background updates for Xbox One would work for games not only for the Xbox One dashboard. I have to download huge updates everytime I start a game to play. My console is 24/7 in standby and online and I must still wait to play a game
when an update is available. Even the WII can do this.

 

Digital Xbox One Release

Can anyone confirm if you get the preorder items from the digital download? Would rather have the digital but also want the preorder items.

 

Or can you get the Launch Day Outfits & Weapons Pack for Fable Anniversary if you buy it in the games store?

Depends on the game. Microsoft stated that some preorder DLC (for example the ones for DR3, Forza, and Ryse) would be given to anyone buying the game in the first 2 weeks after launch.

However, most of the preorder DLC is retailer specific; GameStop and BestBuy might even have two different DLCs!

The first part of the companion app is free, and then there is a small fee to "unlock the full version". The full version is a preorder bonus for GameStop exclusively (so no digital store).

The bank heist DLC seems to be only for physical copies (forums.eidosgames.com/showthread.php).

Like all other games thus far for Xbox One, Thief will be able for digital download on release day.

 

publishers really need to get into 2014 with this. Digital downloads day one should contain preorder bonuses, if MS actually wants to push the box to be digital hot swap like they originally said.

 

The system is in place to be able to do this (as shown by Ryse/Forza 5/Dead Rising 3).

Microsoft and other publishers would probably love for everyone to go digital, as they get more money out of it. But because retail stores are still needed (console and physical game sales are huge), they can't just let them hang out to dry, as the retail
stores will just stop selling their products.
