Will you drop your gold membership for a refund?

Playing alone all the time is boring and depressing. Best to have Gold. Most of my games on 360 and 1 are multiplayer capable. Xbox Live Party chat on 360 is fun and you cant do it without Gold. It feels like you only have half an Xbox Live membership without
Gold. And you could be mistaken for PS fan those peps who come onto the forums with zero gamer score create new profiles some of them are here to cause trouble and have no Gold.

How to Renew your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership

Overview of Xbox LIVE Renewal

When your current Xbox LIVE Gold Membership is about to run out, you will get a renewal message on your screen.

• Month-to-month membership- Notification comes 15 days in advance
• 3 or 12 month membership- Notification comes 30 days in advance

Xbox LIVE membership can be renewed using a credit card, a debit card, or a Prepaid Gold Membership Card.

If your automatic membership renewal (auto renewal) is set to off, you can purchase a new subscription or use a prepaid membership card to renew your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership.

Renew with a payment option by purchasing a new membership:

Steps to Follow

1) Use your Xbox LIVE gamertag to sign in.

2) Under Settings, select Account.

3) Proceed to Your Memberships, and select the membership that you currently have (for example Xbox LIVE Gold)

4) Select Modify Membership and you will be presented with a list of renewal options. If you are on an Xbox LIVE Free Membership, you can choose to upgrade to Gold Membership.

5) Select a membership option, then Confirm Purchase.

Once you have confirmed your purchase, the following will happen:

• The payment option you are using will be charged immediately.
• The time subscription plan you have just purchased will be added to your remaining subscription time.
• Your Xbox LIVE Gold Membership will be activated and auto renewal turned on.

Take note:

If you use a credit card as your payment option, you cannot remove it on file until your current membership expires.

There is a procedure you can follow to add or change your Xbox LIVE payment option.

Renew with a prepaid membership card

It is possible to renew your Xbox LIVE membership using a Prepaid Microsoft Gold Membership Card. This card is available at retail locations.

If you choose to redeem a prepaid Xbox LIVE membership code, you will be added time to your existing Xbox LIVE membership, while your renewal settings will remain unchanged.

How to turn on auto renewal (for existing membership):

If you are already on Xbox LIVE Gold of Family Pack membership and you want to turn on auto renewal without purchasing new membership, you should contact Xbox Support.

How to Troubleshoot Xbox LIVE renewal:

If there are issues with your Xbox LIVE account, you might receive the following messages. The solutions are provided below:

• Error: Your credit card has been declined several times by our billing service.

This means that your credit card has expired, or the information on it has been changed. To solve this problem, there is a procedure you can follow to change payment option for Xbox LIVE membership.

• Error: 8015d080

In case you receive this error message, you need to contact Xbox Support.

 

Games with Gold?

I'm curious of this as well.... Do you lose access to the games once your membership expires?

 

Ty @Lloyd. Didn't ask if you went silver tho. You let your service expire, not the same as getting a refund. You obviously would get a refund so Ty for letting us know. But as I see, neither next gen system is offering great free games. Please keep the question

I got a gold account just to play online,the rest are bonuses.

Too bad,with the new policy ,XBL Gold offers less,but i still need and want it ,to play online,for the best.

 

Good for you Liody Same games on both sides but i guess you enjoy offline games more

 

@Lofty - The Max game is great. I've played it through 3 times now. It's just one of those games that keeps you coming back.

 

Lloyd, I really dunno how you play online without gold. I guess your just a beautiful flower that gets free stuff...the rest of us seem to have to pay tho. Let us know how you do it if u could yeah???

I beg to differ: Spartan Ops is a 4 player, or SOLO Campaign. Yes, it's separate from the MC Campaign, but a Campaign nonetheless as you are looking to, if memory serves, to find out about the planet, covy, Promethean's, and also to save Halsey.

Make Spartan Ops playable offline/system link and they can keep the refund.

 

@ZombieDeano I agree Gold is good value. It was rrp £40 at launch on March 14 2003 and has never had a price increase. All those hours of multiplayer, great value.

But PS+ is better value. Since picking up a PS4 in January, I have 14 free games. And in that time, PSN hasn't been down for me for one minute, I could even play online during maintenance. During the same time period Live has had several outages.

But PS+ has led to Live improving. Games with Gold & removal of paywall were because of Sony. Competition is good.

 

@Stud I played Ghosts campaign for a bit, got dashboarded. So I thought I'd look at the leaderboards. Clicked on Multiplayer and it worked as normal. Shouldn't but did. Shame its such a poor game.

Am more Multiplayer so prefer fps and football games.

You must be one of few lucky one's where psn been up seen many posts about it going down.

Same with xbox since Titanfall launch live went down few times.

 

@electro, you finish that campaign in a matter of a couple days. Why not finish it then drop your gold. If it takes you a month to finish then do that. Then refund the gold...

 

@lloydy, I own PS4 and I know the free games you refer to. Fun but...haven't turned it on in 4 months...as you said about the gold offerings...Old ports. But I do look forward to playing Spartan OPs...

Can't just drop Spartan Ops, as I am far too into Halo. I have owned H4 since launch, and not knowing that Sp Ops was even a part of Halo when I 1st popped it into my 360, I then realized that I had bought an incomplete game disk @ full price. It was then
that I talked with my wife and we then spent another 80 bucks on an XBL bundle pack.

Before H4 came out, I had had the 360 for over a year, along with 15 mb Net, and never had any REAL reason to go Gold.

Since then we now have Netflix and after April 9th, or so. Sp Ops is all that's keeping us gold. Oh, wait... Halo 3 was Free with Gold so in addition to owning it, and the other Halo's on disk, I now have a full copy of H3 on the HDD. Thus in light of that,
and the expectation that another good game my go "Free with Gold." Umm.. Someday. (Halo Reach/ODST/Wars/Halo 4) Then I'll keep it, and as long as it does not take food off the table. I'll probably renew it.
