    So I have my 700 dollar Xbox series x for months now I have a 4k 3d projector and a lg plasma smart 3d tv that once in a while like to watch one of the few good 3d movies on. My one of Xbox one plays them fine, what’s the time line or excuse for Microsoft not allowing this feature on the new gen? You can buy 3d projectors everywhere and they look better then ever at home. If the Xbox one can do it Microsoft should have the rights already to turn it on. I’ve seen literally hundreds of other Xbox owners asking the same thing ( not lately tho) want to see if there’s any info that Microsoft or Xbox team can shed on the future of 3d capability in the series s and x

    3D Blu Ray playback On Series X

    To be fair, on the Xbox Series X official page, there is no mention of 3D so it can't be expected:

    "Optical Drive. 4K UHD Blu-Ray"

    As to not having a state of the art player, not surprised there either....a £450 ($500) console is not expected to have a blu-ray player that would cost probably £200 standalone

    I'm getting a bit concerned that maybe the Xbox One WILL NOT play 3d blu ray movies. This article was posted on Cnet being fairly sure it won't:

    When I tweeted Xbox Support they have no information at this time (despite telling someone in May it will play 3D blu rays).

    Is there an official word on the legitmacy of the Cnet article?

    Xbox One supports 3D Blu-ray discs when played on 3D TVs. Try checking whether there are any updates for The Blu-ray player app
