will xbox one s work without a hdmi sat/cable, can get video without but no sound

yes i tried it 3 different hdmi cables :-(

it's so strange i have on the same tv other equipment in high definition with hdmi cable (like SKY tv sat)..and work without problems only xbox one have this problem.

But if I connect the console to another TV (philips 8008) it works correctly...the only difference between the two TVs is the frequency. :-(

I'm having the same problem with xbox not recognizing the "yes"since last up date and now when I turn xbox one on it says it can't find tv single even though I can hear the sound. I have to unplug hdmi cable from sat receiver and plug back in to get video
back.

In the end, if you can't possibly get sound through HDMI with that resolution and without buying a TV that supports it, then just use an Optical S/PDIF cable to your receiver. There is no quality difference with HDMI Dolby Digital and Optical S/PDIF Dolby
Digital, as both cables can handle the format. So use HDMI for Video and the seperate Optical for Audio (Both the optical and HDMI output sound at the same time, so don't worry if one will be disabled for the other).

I had to make a sacrifice on my Desktop PC this past weekend to get 4:4:4 chroma (when each pixel on the TV has full color information) and LPCM audio at the same time. I wanted it through one chain of HDMI cables, but it converted down to 4:2:2 (loss of
color information) chroma when I used it through my HDMI receiver to my TV. So now i use an HDMI cable only for sound, and use a DVI->HDMI cable for 4:4:4 video (this is for my desktop only, the Xbox 360 successful outputs audio and 4:4:4 chroma [only at resolutions
above 720p it seems... Hint: compare the brightness of the color red in games] using only the HDMI port already).

Another option you can try before going for the big fix is to get the component HD video cable. Places like best buy, game stop, or amazon have this cable. I have this cable instead of HDMI for my 360S console. Its possible that there is an issue with
the HDMI port however using the component HD video cable will still get you HD picture, just without the HDMI cord.

I purchased my cable from Amazon for under 20 dollars. It can be used to rule out the HDMI port on your xbox as being the culprit and possibly saving yourself the cost of a repair. If it doesnt work, you can always return the cable.

Change the HDMI cable with a 2.0 or better. Make sure the cable is plugged in all the way on the Xbox One. Run STB (cable/sat box) HDMI Xbox One HDMI TV. Repair/exchange likely won't fix the issue, as the cause is not a "failure" with the Xbox One (at least
it does not sound that way). Try the 'good' HDMI cables, and post back what happens!
