Will Xbox One backwards compatibility work all 360 games?

I recently got a Xbox One just for the backwards compatibility and was wondering if I would be able to play newer games like FIFA 16, or if it is only going to be for older(ish) games?

Also what will happen to the games I bought on the 360 market? Will they appear in my ready to install area?

not all Xbox 360 games are backwards compatible, but there are quite a few that will work on the Xbox One console.

No. Controllers and accessories that work with Xbox 360 won't work with Xbox One (and vice versa). Also not all games are compatible, please check this link for available games as of now

Hi there, we don't exactly know what games will be BC yet, but a full list of the titles available at release will be out very soon, like within the next week or so and I believe they will continue to add to it in the future.

Though no, not all titles will be available as activision has said they are not supporting it so the old Call of Duty titles won't be. Not sure about newer titles, that's a good question, guess we'll have to wait and see!

Oh and any digital games from the 360 that are BC should just show in your 'ready to download' section on the Xbox One.

 

Glad to see all the games I got from the market won't just disappear, and hopefully I won't need to buy a second copy of the new games.

It's sad to see Activision not supporting it, I was looking forward to playing the old CoD games again.

It's likely we'll see the most popular games brought in for backwards compatibility. I think we'll see a nice list of games, but most games probably wont be backwards compatible. It really relies on the publisher too. I'm excited to see what will work.

 

I personally believe that newer/high demanded games (e.g. FIFA, GTA) won't be available instantly so that profits don't suddenly drop. They will probably be available within the next couple months. Money is like 95% of the gaming industry (the 5% being everything
with the community) so making them compatible from the beginning would lose so much.

This is just my thoughts on the situation, could be way way off the mark but just a theory. Hopefully I am wrong and everything is great from day 1.

P.S. The % i used earlier was completely made up and just used as an example.
