    Can someone please answer me this, I have the xbox one s and with the recent news of the discontinueation for the one s and one x I am wondering if after the xbox series x is released that if the previous consoles that people own will still work. It
    would take me half a year to save up for the current consoles still being sold and I bet a whole year to afford the new one coming up along with a 4k tv. An 8k is out of the question for someone like me at the moment.

    Yes. The consoles will still be usable after the Series X is released (just like the 360 is still usable now so many years after the One was released). Game updates might slow down after a period of time as newer games are released.

    I am not sure if I was clear or not but what I meant is that will xbox one s users (and those that have the other two that are discontinued) still have access to playing games and recieve updates online to games like Elder Scrolls Online or Destiny 2 for
    example? Also purchase, download games and apps, and have access to the microsoft store still. Your answer didn't really fully answer my question because you basically said the same thing I already found out from the letter that was posted describing the discontinueation
    of those consoles.

    Hi,

    Only the One X and the One S digital edition (the One S without the blu-ray drive) has discontinued, the standard One S is and will be continued to be produced for some time to come.

    Not only will the One S still be made, a number of up-coming games are still coming out for the Xbox One and One X. Some of them support what Microsoft calls 'Smart delivery'. Basically you buy a Smart delivery game and when you buy the Series X, you'll
    get the best version of the game for no extra cost.

    The Xbox Series X is due to have near full BC with the Xbox One S and X and will be able to play users on those older systems. It's not obsolete yet. Live for Xbox 360 dates back to 2005 and it's still working 15 years on!

    Hi! Unfortunately, no new Backwards Compatible Games will be released until the new Xbox Series X releases. All BC work is now being done for the upcoming Xbox Series X. There is still no word if work on BC for Xbox One will be resumed after the release
    of the new console.
