Will Xbox 360 be supported on xbox live in the coming years?

I have been wondering what the plans are for supporting the xbox 360 in the coming years...like for example, I just bought Destiny for the 360 expecting to play it for a couple years. Unfortunately that requires xbox live, and if that service shuts down
for the 360 then I wasted $45 on that game. Seems kinda unfair to release brand new titles on a system that will not be supported the year after they are released (I heard something about the 360 not being supported after 2016). Is that what the plan is?
I would appreciate an answer, if there is one out there. Thank you!

Xbox Live will not be available in Greece yet Xbox One is advertised for sale.

Actually Xbox Live is supported in Greece for quite a while now. The asterisk does not say that those countries are not supported:
* Xbox Live available on Xbox One in these countries. Not all Xbox Live features on Xbox 360 are supported on Xbox One. Multiplayer between Xbox One and Xbox 360 is not supported. Customer Support for Xbox Live is only available in countries
where Xbox Live is officially supported.

Can I use Xbox One in Any Country?

See the link below for Xbox Live supported countries, and official Xbox statement. As you can play Xbox offline anywhere, however Xbox Live may or may not work depending on which country you're in.

Nothing official has been announced as to when live for the 360 will stop but as mentioned,it's still extremely popular & games are still being released on the 360 so it'll still be going for a good few years yet I would think.

Microsoft has officially pledged to support the 360 through at least 2016. This mainly applies to continued game support with new games and continuing to make the console available for sale as Live support should continue for many years after that as long
as the user base is large enough. Live on the original Xbox was supported for many years after the launch of the 360 and was only stopped in order to improve the network overall, which the original net protocols were holding it back.

The original Xbox had about 8 years of Xbox Live (Nov. 15 2002 to April 14 2010). 2014 Marked 8 years of Live on the 360. There's been no 'official' word when the Xbox 360 will have its support ended, however, that time is coming closer. Eventually, the
time will come when they can and will no longer support the 360, because 'newer, bigger, and better things'. EA announced that they would support the 7th generation consoles until
2017, and from there Microsoft will make the decision of where to take Xbox 360's support. As time goes on, the amount of games released will diminish, and as a result the console will stop being supported as a whole. (Network protocols were
holding it back? lol)

Thanks folks for the questions and answers and opinions but it's still unclear what to expect in the years to come.. in my case i have an XB collection for over 40 games and that includes Collectors editions and Limited editions like Witcher 2 The black
edition that game alone is already worth 100 euro and my total collection is above 1000 euro's.

So wouldn't it be fair towards gamers like me and others who spend money on MS products to be clear for at least 2 years or more about last generation and current generation hardware and software ?

Saying that the XB360 hardware and software will get supported till 2017 is fine and that the XB1 will support XB360 software for another few years is grand but that is pushing the problem towards the next generation and if i keep buying and playing XB for
enough years there will be some point my Collection will be worth it's weight in garbage..
