Will XBL ever end for the 360?

I'm worried that one day, I'll no longer be able to update games or download games and DLC. Will this ever happen? I'm thinking about 1, 5, and 10 years into the future.

Ive been a gold member ever since i was a beta tester for the launch of xbl......back at the end of the original xbox ......12 years???.....crazy how fast time flies

 

Xbox LIVE 360 Still Down?

I have no problems with XBL either, in fact, it's been really good all of this month for me, so what ever is happening is on your end or possibly even your ISP.

 

It will eventually end.

The original xbox came out in 2001. Xbox live was shutdown for the original xbox in 2010. 5 years after the xbox 360 came out and 9 years after the xbox original came out.

Id guess xbox live for xbox 360 might stay around for another 1-2 years but there is nothing officially annouced by Microsoft as of yet.

But we are starting to see signs that its time is coming such as game developers begining to stop making games for the last gen systems and focusing soley on current gen.

Its only a matter of time in the end but id say 1-2 more years at most would be my guess

A few things to keep in mind.

Xbox One Backward Compatibility uses the Xbox 360 Live servers to play games.

They are releasing 2 Xbox 360 games with live every month.

The Sign in for Xbox One and 360 are the same.

I do not see a reason why they would be shutting down any time soon. They are still selling them and they have the offer of a 3 year Microsoft Warranty.

I would say... 3 years after they stop selling them in the Microsoft Store we may want to revisit this question. For now lets just play games and have fun.
