  1. Will using a non-certified internal hard drive get you banned/suspended from Live?

I've been reading posts here and in other forums regarding the use of non-certified internal drives in an Xbox 360 E/S and I have yet to see anything official from Microsoft regarding whether just using such a drive will, in fact, get you banned/suspended.

I've seen a lot of contradictory statements online about whether using an aftermarket drive will result in a banning and have found nothing that looks official from Microsoft on the subject. I understand that Live's TOS talks about modifying hardware,
but it's really unclear if that means modified to take advantage of a gaming glitch or some other action that overrides software or hardware used on Live or if just putting a drive in the console constitutes the type of modification the TOS highlights. To
me, the TOS is overly broad in this regard. Microsoft should just spell it out - either YES, you can use external third party drives to store games and DLC, unless you mod them to mess with the live service, or NO you can't use any drives, regardless of what's
on them, that aren't Microsoft certified.

I can use a non-certified USB drive and stick for storage, that is spelled out. So why can't they be just as clear with the internal drive?

    :)

    Replacing internal hard drive ok?

I need to replace my Xbox One internal hard drive using the iFixit guide. I remember reading years ago that doing so in a Xbox 360 could get you banned from Xbox Live, including your console. Is this true for Xbox One?

Problem playing my game I just bought

    Hi,

Could you check out the following link please.

    forums.xbox.com/.../25.aspx

    -

If after trying all the suggestions in the link you are still having issues then I have a question.

    -

Was the hard drive you are using supplied with the console or purchased separately? Some hard drives from places such as eBay are not Microsoft certified hard drives and as such do not have the required emulation files and hard drive partition information
that are needed to play original Xbox games.

    -

If it is the case that you do have one of these non certified hard drives then I'm afraid your only option would be to purchase an official Microsoft hard drive.

If you do have a third-party hard drive for your Xbox, Microsoft should not ban or suspend your console. However, by doing so you will be unable to play original Xbox games on your 360. Therefore, it is up to you whether or not you trust a third-party
brand to store your memory in.

    Console Hard Drive Question

As suggested a external hdd will give you 16GB of storage to store anything you get from Xbox Live on. You cannot create a internal hdd from a non microsoft hard drives, as thats tempering and in violation of TOS.

    Reset to factory default.

There is no such thing as an 80GB hard drive for the S console. If it is an external drive then you can only use 32GB of it. If it is the internal then it is 3rd party modded and could result in the console being banned from Live.

Classic Simpson Hit And Run fails to play on Xbox 360

All certified Xbox 360 hard drives have the ability to play original Xbox games that are on the supported list, you do require your console to be connected to live to download an update for the game though. The error you are getting seems to suggest that
you either are not connected to live or you have a none certified hard drive.

If you have the 4Gb console then you will need to purchase a genuine Microsoft certified and I cannot stress how important it is to use the official hard drives to play any Xbox original games.
