Will TPM In Windows 11 Do Anything About Cheaters On PC?

Not surprised they are getting backlash from it.....I bought an £1100 PC (not expensive but not cheap either) back in January 2020 with a R5 3600 CPU and it failed the MS Win 11 check tool, presumably due to the motherboard being a B450 board. Now means my PC only has a shelf life of 5 years maximum before it needs replacing (given the comparative cost of motherboard and CPU replacement).

The R5 3600 is compatible as for the B450, check the BIOS for AMD fTPM and enable it.

*cough* Can someone please tell Microsoft that then? It's their own tool that tells me my hardware isn't compatible...as much as I realise that system check tools are not at all reliable, an official MS tool being completely useless is going to create a lot of aggravation for people.

the requirement was only removed for the dev insider versions, they have confirmed that on general release then you will need 8th gen intel or zen 2, there maybe some odd 7th gen allowed too on a case by case cpu by cpu basis, but tpm 2.0 also required.

luckily i am all compatible for win 11.

I have win 11 installed on a virtual machine at the moment, and i highly recommend nobody jumps into the insider dev version as it is still rather buggy and not all features are active yet, also if you install the dev version and your pc is not on the list of compatible processors you will be stuck when it comes to full release as you will need to blank your pc and return to win 10.

it has still got a lot of work ahead of release as in its current form it is very very unstable, with regular explorer crashes and UI glitches.

no, it is only for holding security keys.

cheaters are on all platforms at the moment, most games come with a program called anticheat which works but some of the popular games like cod and battlefield have not implemented it because the devs/publishers are dumb.

also a lot of people that are running anything less than 2nd gen ryzen or 8th gen intel will not be able to install windows 11 when released officially regardless of tpm status.
