Will this work for local campaign co op?

I know there is no campaign co op split screen. I believe I understand there is also no LAN multiplayer either? Just want to play campaign co op with my daughter. Can I do this with 2 xbox ones, 2 TV's, 2 copies of the game, and my xblive account? Or,
are they going to further stick it to me and require that my daughter gets a different xblive account as well?

The game supports Local Co-Op for 4 Players only, not online Co-op. Which means that two to four players can play the entire campaign via local co-op only.

 

You'll need two subscriptions likely. Most the games require you have a gold subscription to play online. You can thank 343 studios for their lack of interest in spending more time creating a co-op environment.

 

It won't quite work that way... but you can do it another way.

IF you purchase the game digitally, you will only need 1 copy. Disc copy will not work this way.

You will need 2 Xbox Ones, 2 TVs and you will need to have an XBL Gold account for each of you.

Follow these steps:

Sign out of 'your' XB1 and sign in on your daughter's console.

Set that [your daughter's] console to your "Home" console. Also make sure your profile is set to 'Share Gold'.

Download Halo 5 (any game downloaded digitally will work this way).

Now you can sign out of that console.

Sign back in on the console you usually play on.

It will no longer be your Home console, but you can download any games that you own digitally to any other console and play them online, as long as your profile is logged in to that console.

Your daughter can now sign in on her console (which is set to your home console) and will have access to any games you own. The only requirement will be that she will need an XBL Gold account to play any online enabled game modes.

Of course, if you look for deals on 1 year XBL Gold subs you can find them for less than the price of a game, therefore you could play for over a year before it would cost you more than buying 2 discs.

I know it's not really the optimal solution for you in particular but in a situation like yours, getting a digital copy is the way to go... since you have to have 2 XBL Gold accounts, at least you can save yourself having to buy two copies of the game.

 

Like A Blue Illusion said, but you can also enable Gold Sharing so all you need to do is have your Account be Gold and so will your daughter's.

 

^Does it work that way? If I understand that right, then any family member on the "Home" console will have a gold account under MadPerry's membership, without having to pay a sub and would have full access to all the XBL features and MP gaming features?
If so, then there wouldn't be a need to pay for a separate sub for his daughter and only 1 digital copy would be needed. That's awesome if so.

 

Yes, it works that way. I have two Xbox One's in my house and share gold between them. You just need to make sure to activate it.
