Will this hard drive work on my Xbox One?

So I'm running outta storage on my Xbox One and need to buy a hard drive and Ive found one but I just wanna make sure itll work on my Xbox One before I buy it.

Halo 4 - Disc Unreadable

Ok so for some strange reason:

- It won't work on my xbox with my hard drive;

- It won't work on my housemates xbox with his hard drive;

However, on my xbox with his hard drive, or his xbox with my hard drive, it works fine both times.. Any ideas why this may be? For now we're just swapping xbox's as they're both the same model and roughly the same age.. odd. lol

Hi,

Xbox One supports any USB 3.0 external hard drive that's 256GB or larger

It was stated that any USB 3.0 capable hard drive should work with the console so you should be good to go with all that space.

I got the 3TB version and this is what I Replying to all the Hard Drive question here as this needs to be fixed Please

I got a WD MyBook and I like it, but it doesn't shut down like it does with a computer

I say Xbox needs to make the Xbox One power off USB when you turn the One off

Please fix this issue Xbox

Please head over to Settings on the console. You'll need to look around a bit because I can't remember exactly where it is at the moment but there is an option to power down the external storage when the console is shut down. You just need to check it.

Another question, I still plan on buying the Hard Drive, and all that stuff. But the problem Is, the Hard Drive Is one of the first gen Xbox Hard Drive's would It still work? and would It work In my console? (I have a Skylanders Bundle Slim Xbox 360)

yeah a controller is working for my xbox one but my external hard drive which is a 3tb seagate is not working so my usb ports work fine its just for some reason the external hard drive isn't so any other suggestions or should i just get a new hard drive
