Will there be another Xbox console after the Xbox One?

I brought something like this up last year, in a kind of convoluted way. I remember asking why MS just doesnt built a machine that does both. I cannot remember the replies but it was flamed I think. BUT, if you take it to a very simplistic standpoint ;.

I think the majority of the world uses an MS operated PC. Console users will inevitably turn of their consoles to go on the PC. Now from what I can gather on this post is that the two defining points why people do not do PC gaming is either the social/group
side, or the fact they don't like playing on a keyboard.

How, as a business do you stop the opposition going on their consoles from the PC/MS side. Easy, you let them do the gaming on the PC. Now as Randver has mentioned, us minions are far from knowing what's going on behind closed doors with the big guns. But
it's pretty obvious MS are going to merge the two crowds, PC gamers with console gamers.

So to me it's blatantly obvious. An upgradable PC/gaming console that integrates the controller.

The opposition will be ***.

 

lol...there will ALWAYS be another console, as surely as there will always be a "new and improved" chocolate chip cookie. Retail is an endless loop of improved products. While not a perfect definition, it is what they call "planned obsolesence".

The next Xbox could very well be just a program on PC. They seem keen on integrating the Xbox One, xbox Live and PCs together into one unified experience.

 

At the end of the day, who knows where MS plan to take Xbox... They've made some "interesting" decisions in there time...

Plausible. 10 years ago, I wouldn't have imagined that iPods could just be an app on my smartphone. That's just how tech works.

 

I think the days of consoles are numbered. There may be an Xbox One v2 in 2018-2020 but that will be the last.

 

I believe there will always be home consoles. People like convenience and a sense of community. Which PC's do NOT offer at the same level as Xbox Live or the other Network.

With that said, there will be another Xbox (in probably 6 years). Hopefully it will have a better name than Xbox Two. (I sure was hoping Xbox One was going to be the 720).

People are not tired of Gears of War, and Halo. They are killer game franchises.

 

The days of console convenience seem to be coming to an end though. I miss just being able to pop in a disc and play. Or Start up a game without having to go through a huge update first. It's why I've always prefered in the past buying a game on a console
rather than my PC, that factor is gone now.

For me what keeps consoles in the game are that they have a level playing field, everyone gets to play the same game the same way. Though even that playing field is going to become uneven thanks to Microsoft's new Elite controller.

 

Well, I hope they do keep the Xbox One live for many years.I do like to buy games on a disk and not downloading games.

 

i agree sadly the days of small updates are well and truly over .. listen to this .. stupid for someone with an 7gig a month limit but thats me all over lol :/

i bought an xbox one with halo then opened box and realise it said on box download LOL :/

anyway not be beat i went and bought a second hand copy so i could install it Lol :/

then typed in the free code so i didnt have to use the disk lol :/

ran game and it needs a 21gig Update LMFAO :/ cant win for trying me lol :/

NxtDoc, I'm actually not tired of Gears of War, but I am getting tired of Halo. If Halo 5 ends up not living up the the hype, then I'm done with Halo.

JustBoomerX1 I'm also not a fan of digital copies, even though my internet connection is decent, I just prefer using discs because if you don't want the game anymore, you can always sell it while on digital copies, no money back (I believe you get a digital
refund once a year).
