    Will there be an update to allow users to use a USB headphone?


    Will there be an update to allow users to use a USB headphone or standalone mic? I have a couple of rather expensive high quality microphones that I would quite like to be able to use on the xbox. The mic provided makes my voice sound nasty as hell and seems
    a little silly that the only way I can currently have a better headset and mic is to pay out the ears for an exclusive Xbox one one. I recently sold my PS4 as I was happy enough with my xbox, however this is a feature that I didnt realise wasn't provided,
    though it is on Playstation.

    I really hope this will be coming soon!

    Convert Disc to Digital copy?

    That would be great! Maybe even take it one or two steps further, and distribute games on a "one-time" use disc that bio-degrades after use. Or allow users to download games to a USB thumb drive from a PC, and then transfer the
    game to an Xbox.

    Sorry, but at this time that is all Microsoft will allow you to use on USB storage. There is no way around it unless they issue an update.

    No, mic headset developers need to pay Microsoft for Microsoft to give them the right to build a working headset for their console. Sony doesn't do this though, that why all headset work there.

    Using a USB Mic with an Xbox One console

    USB is for controller charging purposes only, not for use unless you use the xbox adapter. Connecting your headphones to the console's USB port will not allow audio to work on your headphones.

    Hi RichardSellwood,

    That port that is next to the 3.5mm jack is the expansion port. This is for allowing a better experience with the controller by being able to attach a mini keyboard to the controller or a stereo headphone expansion. This is not a USB port and there is nothing
    that I have seen that will allow for turning it into a USB port.

    In order for your son to use the USB lighting function of the headphones (which I have as well), you would need to plug it into an actual USB port on the system or get a small USB battery that you can plug it into.

    I'm not sure if these headphones are compatible via USB. If the headphones can be connected via a headphone jack then you can plug them directly into the port on your controller. This will allow sound and voice to work

    Some updating controller trouble.

    The controller that has a 3.5mm headphone jack can be updated wirelessly. Other than that any micro USB cable can be used to update the controller.
