  2. Hard drive options?

Hi there, from major nelson's blog 'Larger external USB hard drives – Plug in any external USB hard drive up to 2 TB to store your Xbox 360 downloads, profile, saved games, and other data'

    majornelson.com/.../xbox-360-system-update-now-available-adds-support-for-2tb-hard-drives

It basically says any hard drive up to 2tb so I'd plug in just about any, just be aware that it will format that drive and you will lose any data on there so make sure you don't want anything on there.

Also it will work the same as the 'internal' storage on the machine, so games, saves, profiles, music etc.

You can buy a 120GB or 250GB hard drive for your console, it looks
    like this
for the old style consoles. You should still be able to get the 120GB but the 250GB can be hard to come by. Don't be tempted to buy from eBay or independent sellers from Amazon as these hard drives are typicaly fake.

If your console has a recent update you can use a USB flash drive as a storage device, up to a maximum of 16GB.

Yes, it was announced a while back. It just didn't make launch but external storage devices are on their way.

  5. The thing is I think the OP is wondering if you can bring your own storage whereas , knowing microsoft, they'll have a "buy ours only" thing going on

I believe when they talked about this initially, you will be able to plug in your own storage not just MS sold stuff. Only time will tell though.

Repeated random disconnects from Xbox Live

If you have the internal hard drive, let's try and isolate this to see if the hard drive might be the culprit here.

    With your console powered off,
    safely remove the hard drive
and plug in a USB flash drive,
configured for use with the Xbox 360
. Power on the Xbox with the USB drive attached to one of the USB ports on your console (with the hard drive removed). Apply the system update when prompted to do so.

Let us know if you're able to stay connected properly with this solution.

Can't access 'The Evil Within' as update download won't complete

That code means that your system can't see the hard drive.

A storage device (such as a memory unit or hard drive) was not found during the software update. Follow these steps:

    Turn off your console.

Remove all console storage devices, including any USB flash drives, external hard drives or the internal hard drive on the Xbox 360 E console or Xbox 360 S console. Learn how to remove the hard drive. support.xbox.com/.../add-remove-hard-drive

Add your primary storage device, for example, the hard drive.

    Turn on the console

    Try updating the console again.
