    Will there be a recall on xbox x hdmi port?


    I am so [mod removed] frustrated with the [mod removed] HDMI port on my xbox x series it now again has gone BAD! And not due to abuse, not due to this or that, but because I have plugged in and unplugged the HDMI cord to the unit about 15-20 times.

    What I do not understand is how anyone, or company,, makes such sub par [mod removed] HW to begin with but what is more is how little response people are getting from MS on this issue.

    Why are companies not held more accountable? Here I am likely outside my 1 year warranty, I'm a 100% combat disabled so I cannot afford to pay to fix your [mod removed] up, and now what, the unit I paid over double for ($1000) will be just thrown to the wayside and Im out a thousand?

    If this is issue has not been addressed by the makers of the unit then I believe it is upon those with the problem to either A. establish a lawsuit against said company, or B. force the said company to execute a recall on the [mod removed] device they have peddled to consumers, oh, and likely did so knowingly.

    So Team MS, are you going to recall this junk and make for a stronger HDMI port or will you choose to just let us rot. really. I would like to know.

    p.s. if swearing offends you then you must have some personal issues because my swearing is not directed precisely at you. Rather, my swearing is a direct result from my real world combat experience and as such is and has been the best form of therapy I have known. So deal with it!

    Hello GentleWarrior, I am sorry for what happened to your console, however if you do not want to send the console to Microsft's paid repair service, the ideal would be to seek some technical assistance that can perform this type of service.

    About the feedback, as you may know the community is public and unfortunately as independent consultants we are unable to provide this type of feedback to Microsoft.

    The ideal in this case would be to use the Uservoice that now works on Insider on the Reddit platform to make this recommendation to Microsoft.

    The Xbox Series X will come with a HDMI 2.1 cable,

    But whether you use a HDMI 2.1 cable or not, the HDMI port on the TV needs to be HDMI 2.1 to achieve the 120hz refresh rates at 4K.

    using a HDMI 2.1 cable on a TV port with HDMI 2.0 will still only limit the Xbox Series X to 60hz refresh rates.

    No, The Xbox Series X has a HDMI 2.1 port therefore it will always ship with a HDMI 2.1 cable,

    Yes, you can connect a HDMI 2.1 cable to a HDMI 2.0 port on your TV, you'll just be limited to 4K at 60hz, which is no different to what it like to play on the Xbox One X right now,

    As long as you have HDMI 2.0 port on your TV you'll be fine to use the Xbox Series X, but if your wanting to experience 4K at 120hz, you'll need a TV or Gaming monitor that has HDMI 2.1 ports.

    All AV port cables are interchangeable, though I don't recall "white" original 360 consoles coming with HDMI. HDMI cables and thin AV port audio adapters were included with only special/limited edition consoles (post-Halo 3) and Elite original 360 consoles.
