    You cannot play discs on Series S, as it has no disc drive with which to validate the copy protection. No, an external drive will not be possible. You'll have to purchase them digitally, or use an Xbox with a disc drive

    You are not able to use external Disc drives or network transfer of gaming disc to the Series S.

    The Series S is digital download only and physical game discs are not usable on the system.

    It's not possible to do due to the requirements of the DRM. Future revisions may have such a thing, but that is only speculation.
