    Will the Xbox One S share the online servers with the original?


    Title says it all. Will I be able to play online together with players with an S if I have the original? Because the main reason I play Xbox is for Live. I don't want to fork out another few hundred bucks if that's the case. Thanks!

    Share? So if something goes wrong with the net/servers. You can't share your games?

    Someone's going to have to explain that one, and don't skimp on the details of how exactely it all works online and off.

    My opinion on the whole online pass thing.

    false. you're trying to force 2 pegs in one hole with that logic. guy 1 only pays for guy 1's permanent spot in the servers. guy 2 never paid for having his spot permanently stored in the servers.

    they permanently store account info, stats, games played,etc. on their servers. you have to pay your equal amount, and put in your fair share.

    Which model Xbox did you get, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S? The reason I ask is that the original Xbox can no longer play online, as the Xbox servers were switched off for that model back in 2010.

    Yes..it will end eventually. Just as the original console's servers were cut in April, 2010 after some 7 years, the 360's will as well. Particularly as more people switch over to the One. One mistake that everyone thinks is just because BC has come to
    the One the 360 servers will stay up. If that were true all original Xbox games would still work online.

    But as noted, there has been no official announcement as to when the 360 servers will be shut off.

    The subscription is active on both xbox one and Xbox series s.

    1. Xbox one disc is original - subscription on this account
    2. Xbox series s digital - linked to subscription
    3. Xbox series s currently plays online
    • Forza horizon 4
    • Fifa 21
    • Rocket league
    1. Xbox one has all games downloaded on to it as they aren't disc versions
    2. Xbox series s has games shared to it
    3. If they series s is changed to home, what happens to the xbox one?
    • Can xbox one play the games online?
    • Says we can only change home 3 more times
    • I don't won't to change if it means xbox one can't play games online

    day one update

    The update for the Xbox One will only be availabe on the Xbox One to enable people to play the console offline.

    That said, the Xbox One will be playable online and offline, but it'll be better if played online, what, with the Cloud, ability to stream games in the future, Forza's Drivatar, 300,000 servers etc..

    Depending on your broadband, the update may be fine and highly unlikely it will brick consoles, MS learned their lesson when the original 360's had RROD's.
