You don't have to be online in order to set the console to offline mode,that would defeat the object of having an offline mode really.

Just another case of posting something without actually checking if it's true or not.

My internet went down a few days ago which is extremely rare for me.Just switched to offline mode & played my games no problem.

Where i got that from is irrelivant, what is is that I believed them. Now to prove otherwise one would need say 10 X1's with digital games and completely disconnet all 10 from the net for say. An entire month and see what happens.

Then reconnect all 10 and test to see if interupting a console update will in fact cause the console to show as banned like you once said in your "corrupted update" post some months back.

We already know that out of the box, without the net. The X1 is well. A brick, so no need testing that.

I can't do it, but just maybe someone reading this can AND publish the results.

The corrupt update thing is extremely rare & is nothing to do with what your on about.

You can go offline for a month.My nephew only connects to live every now & then to download a game if his mum lets him,he goes months on end without connecting to live & has no issues.

Your clutching at straws & making comments on things you know nothing about.

There's not "one born every minute" the majority of sensible people know that games WITH gold is just a bonus & don't think it's a scam or conspiracy.

Perhaps you'd prefer if they got rid of it & put all the apps back under a gold subscription again?

 

Might as well for even your gamesaves is behind a pay wall, as for your story about your nephew. I don't believe a word of it. For even if his parents don't let him on xbl for months on end. The console is still connected to the net in what is it called,
always on mode downloading updates etc.

^^ He could have responsible parents and not connect it for him. I keep the PS3 and WiiU offline because my kids play them and I don't want them online. I only let them go on when I'm in the room watching them. I'll connect to the net and disconnect when
they're finished.

 

I am sure he has good parents brand, but how do they limit his xbl time? Surley they don't power off the cable/dsl wireless box, and in always on mode, the X1 and shhh... DRM is good to go whenever you press the consoles power button to turn it on. Is it
not?

It's not connected to the net full stop.Not wireless or wired.

He has to bring it into the living room where the router is & his mum connects it.He's only 9 years old & his mum doesn't want him on live yet.

Funny,my saves are on the console not behind a paywall.

My nephews are on his console,not behind a paywall.

Whether you believe me or not makes no difference to me,the fact is that yet again you are making comments without getting the facts straight & won't admit that you were wrong.

 

Depends. I bounce from console to console and can attest if Live is down you'll only get local saves on the console you are on; your saves (At least for me.) do not carry over with the external.

Also in the case of Black Ops III, it would seem even saves for the campaign are in the Cloud. Black Ops servers were down several months ago, so decided to finish the campaign (3/4 though I would guess.) and got notified I would have to start from scratch;
I've never played the campaign anywhere but in my bedroom.

If you are using multiple consoles then yeah,they are on the cloud.

Don't play the CoD games so wouldn't know about that but for the most part saves are on both your console & the cloud.

Anyway,this has gone way off topic so i'll leave it there.
