Will The Witcher 3 have a day one update?

I've read that TW3 will have a day one update of 5GB, I'm worried because then I'll need at least 1 day and a half and won't be able to play untill two days after the release.

Is it true? If it is, there's any way that I can download the game/update before so when I get my copy I don't need to update?

Witcher 3 will be up against some stiff competition, with Farming Simulator 15 coming out the same day...okay, who am I kidding, no one is actually going to buy Witcher 3, right?

I have heard nothing but high praise from The Witcher 3 and I am really glad that this game (Witcher 3) has blown away the expectations of its fans

Please understand that it isn't my intention to be mean / rude to you Witcher 3 fans, but this is exactly the kind of nonesense that I am talking about.

I loathe this (mandatory crafting requirement) and I am really happy that The Witcher 3s crafting system is absolutely amazing / wonderful for you guys

The only thing,that i can say,is that i already pre download it.It was supposed to be a 25 GB game file but in reality it's 30 GB....

 

1 and a half days for 5gb? wow.

You could buy it digitally and pre-download it nut it will take you 6 days to dl the game.

It takes that much because when downloading something it fails more than usual, don't know why, it should take 10h (at max)

 

10 hours for a 5 GB update is still pretty rough. That takes me like 10 minutes. You should really think about upgrading your ISP.

 

I think it will be very intresting to see what the intial update size will be. The game was pushed back to address quality, and it not a first generation game. The makers have spent time making the game for both consoles and next gen specific.

Sadly, I doubt pre-odering and pre-downloading digitally will avoid any first day patches.

Defy Lightning, believe it or not, some countries have no better ISP options at reasonable consumer rates.

Really torn on if to pre-order digitally. Wife wants PS version, trying to chip away at her.....

 

Defy Lightning not possible, I live 50km away from the nearest city (which is, ironically, Madrid, the capital of Spain) and "Movistar" only says hurrr hurrr, rural internet not better because we won't fix the lines, hurrr, hurrr

So, you guys think I'll have to play offline for a few weeks untill I complete almost everything and stopping a day is not annoying?

 

can i just say the halo MCC day one update wasnt a patch but the full multiplayer side because 343 wanted the MCC on ONE disc so for that to be they had to put the multiplayer side in a update. i know updates can be done when the console is off so if u pre
load the witcher 3 then it should do any updates it has by the morning

 

I pre-ordered phisical edition months ago...

 

If you pre-ordered physical like I did I don't think your gonna be able to download the update if there is one, which I wouldn't be shocked if there is, until you insert the disc and start the install process.

 

It's possible we may get an update soon after release. Most games have an update come out the day or or some days later.

 

Expect almost every game these days to have a day one update. The reason for this is because the disc is almost one month old when you buy it in the store.

But you don`t have to download the game update. You should, because you are able to play a more stable game, but you could install it offline and skip the patch.
