    Will The Schiit Modi-2 Uber DAC decode from the XBox One?


    I'm exploring how I can improve the sound quality to my headphones while I use my XBox One. My plan: Link the console, via the TOSlink port to a DAC (digital-analogue converter)... and then link the DAC to a headphone amplifier... and then
    ultimately to my "cans".

    QUESTION: will the DAC units produced by Schiit be able to convert the digital signal from the console into DOLBY or surround sound?

    The DAC unit that I'm interested in: Schiit Modi-2 Uber. Yes, this is a real company (see this link). . I'd then pair it with Schiit's Magni-2 headphone amplifier. Yes, I'm also contacting
    the manufacturer to see what they have to say.

    Has the XBox1 community had any success with such rigs? Getting surround sound to their headphones using desktop DAC/amps?

    Connect Xbox One to Sonos speakers

    I'm about to mess around with external DAC/amp devices on my XB1. It'll be either a Schiit Modi Uber or a JDS Labs The Element. Did you get your Sonos to play nice with your XB?

    XB1 Bitstream Out Issues with my Sound Blaster ZXR PCIe Sound Card

    I'm also about to upgrade my audio set up. XB1 console... TOSlink... DAC/amp... $200-300 headphones. Either Sound BlasterX g5 or Schiit Magni 2 & Modi 2 rigs. kansas325: did it work out for you?
