Will the progress of the games I played on Xbox 360 be lost if I play the same games on Xbox ...

For example: I had made several progress on Dark Souls, which I had downloaded on my HD. If I buy a Xbox One, will I have to start the game from the very beginning? I saved my progress on the HD too.

Hello. A long while back I played the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, on my Xbox 360. I made a lot of progress on it, then my disc was unable to be read. I wish to re-obtain the game through the xbox marketplace. Will the progress I had on the disc be accessible
through the one I will download from the marketplace?

Hi,

The game progress will carry over if you're using the
Xbox Play Anywhere version of the game with the same Microsoft account on both devices. If you've purchased different versions of the game from the Microsoft Store and the Xbox Store, the game progress will carry over to the device which is compatible with
the version of the game. For example, if you've purchased the PC version of the game from the Microsoft Store, the progress you'll earn for that game will apply on Windows 10 devices. Same goes with the Xbox version. The progress will carry over on Xbox 360
or on Xbox One depending on the device where you last played the game.

There's a feature for Xbox games wherein you can play Xbox 360 games on Xbox One. This means that progress will be carried over from the Xbox 360 console to Xbox One. For your reference, see

Hi, no you will not lose your progress if you move your xbox 360 save to the cloud before you start the game on the Xbox One.

 

So, if I excluded all the content of my Xbox 360, there's no way to recover my progress?

 

That's right, you have to have the save on the cloud, to be able to continue from where you left off on the xbox one.
