Will the new call of duty cycle breathe life into the franchise?

The more I think about it, the more I like it. They have three companies that will focus on three different timelines on a three year cycle. What this does is obviously allows developers more time to polish the game and more importantly, time to innovate
or come up with cool ideas (new or old). The part that could really reinvigorate the franchise is having different timelines on a three year cycle. Part of what has made the last three titles a little stale is that they were all placed in the same timeline.
The near future. Sure the single player may have had flash backs or dipped it's toes in the future/past, but multiplayer was strictly in the near future. While I'm not a big fan of cod going into the future, I hope the next game doesn't go right back to
where we have been for three years.

Year one:

Sledgehammer - Futuristic

Year two:

Treyarch - The past (WWll/Vietnam)

Year three:

Infinity Ward - Modern Warfare

Modded Clan Tags, titles and Modded Controllers

Take a breather, man. Not EVERYONE in the Call of Duty community mods their stuff.

 

Its Call of Duty so I wouldnt get my hopes all high. It will probably look really nice, but will still feature a crappy 6hr campaign with no CO-OP play and a horrendous MP mode that brings out the worst of the XBL community.

 

+1 on coop!

Though the last WW2 Treyarch game did have Coop, so maybe the 'next' call of duty will bring it back. Another factor in this could be the additional time. Maybe instead of cranking out a short sp and trying to cram for the mp, they will take their time
and release a longer campaign and a coop.

Will the three year cycle lead to the first open world call of duty???

 

One can hope I guess haha.

This next one definitely looks "different" but i'm not sure if i'll end up getting it or not. Guess i'll just have to wait and see.

If the rumor about Treyarch doing a World at War 2 is true then I will definitely be getting that! I loved the WWII based games. Plus Nazi Zombies again, so much yes.

I'm done with Infinity Ward though, Ghost's didn't add anything new to the series at all, other than the extinction mode. And had the saddest excuse for a campaign yet so far..

I love Call of Duty, I really do. Pound for pound, no franchise has brought me more joy over the years, and that's saying a lot. The community has just ruined this franchise for me and I want it to die along with it's immature, foul mouthed fan base. No
offense to you CODukes4.

 

Why can't you people stop supporting a game that's milking you for all your money!? It's your standard, typical war shooter! It's absolutely sickening to see this game being recycled year after year and watching you people buy into it.

Hundreds of better games out there! Holy !@#$%

 

I use to love CoD games, but heck, the franchise needs to die so it can be reborn, if they did not make a CoD game for 3 or 4 years a new one would be welcome, I'd like Treyarch to be the one to make it and it would be a WWII game...

 

Some things should end while they are still on top, but sadly that doesn't happen often enough. Some games are dragged out so far, that they go from epic to sad and rehashed.
