    Will the Kinect (when used with the Kinect Adapter) work on the Xbox Series X/S for chat...


    I've tried searching for this online but finding mixed answers. Some say it will work while others say it will not. Does anybody know if the Xbox One Kinect will work on the Xbox Series X/S console for chat (not gaming) if it is used with a Kinect Adapter?

    I know the Kinect games are not backwards compatible, and that is fine. We don't need it for any of the games. My kids just like to use the Kinect sensor as a speaker/microphone when playing games online with their friends because they don't like wearing
    headsets.

    I'm just curious if anybody has tested this and knows if it will work before I purchase the Kinect Adapter.

    Are you using the Xbox 360 with Kinect, or do you have an Xbox One with Kinect 2?

    Also do you have an original Xbox One with Kinect directly connected to the console, or a Xbox One S or X with a separate Kinect Adapter to connect Kinect to your S or X console?

    If you have an external Kinect adapter for S or X consoles, what color is the light on the adapter?

    Kinect Support for XBox One X

    The Kinect will work on the Xbox One X. It just needs the adapter. Assuming it's the right adapter, then it should work fine with Kinect games and voice commands.

    The Kinect is definitely not built into the Xbox One S or X. That saleman was misinformed.

    the xbox one s and the xbox one x need an adapter to make it usb and that also comes with its own power supply.

    the xbox series s and x don't support kinect.

    No Xbox 360 games that require the Kinect for Xbox 360 sensor are back-compatible. All Xbox One titles that require or use Kinect for Xbox One will work with Xbox One X provided the user has the required Kinect Adapter for Xbox One S/X models.
