Will the Halo MC Collection Break Sales Records?

Goatsnatcher: Being a Halo fan since 2001, I was there when H4 came out, and was part of the crowd begging 343i to fix it for months on end. One of its failing was People buyinh DLC and not being able to use it.

They never listened. Not even two years later.

So what makes you think us Halo fans would want to run out and buy a new X1 just because Of Halo?

Other old school halo fans can speak for themselves, but for me, and mine. Its not going to happen.

Well I never said every halo fan would buy it, and tbh from some of the thing's you right about the X1, I don't expect you to buy it. But I am sure a lot of people will want the game, maybe even buy the X1 because of it...... Who knows..

I'm a day one halo player since original launch, that game had the most split screen & LAN matches out of any other game.

Halo 2 was my most played online game for the OX.

Halo 3 & 4 did not get that much play multiplayer as the others but the Co-op campaigns & Spartan Ops are great fun.

I'd be willing to spend $60 just on Halo 2 remake, so the others a big bonus. I already have an XB1 but that collection would be a system seller for me and a bunch of friends are the same.

It is a great package and we can only hope that this could set a trend if remake/re-releases continue. The fact that it is one menu that can switch between either game is just amazing. Everything unlocked as well.

Hello everyone

This was an incredibly amazing move by Microsoft because it does 3 things at the expense of only $60

(1) It will help the day one sales of Halo 5 Guardians when it comes out

(2) It will introduce the Halo story to those that don't know it yet / re-kindle interest in franchise

(3) It will move Xbox One's off the shelf

rm ok now i am worried on the video he says it wont support 4 player co op it will stay true to how it used to be so does this mean halo 2 will not do 2 player co op as halo 2 didnt have co op anyway

I heard that Halo 2 will have online co-op, just like Halo 1. Halo 1 & 2 were both created for just 2P, while 3 & 4 are four player. They are keeping it the same.

Judging by the E3 poll #1 on the Xbox One dashboard it had 70% of the vote out of four titles, it didn't give how many players had voted, but even so, 70% is good, I think this will sell well.

I think it will sell well, for many it's going to be because of Halo 2 Multiplayer as since 2013 you couldn't play Halo 2 MP(on PC) and 2010 for the original xbox. You can still play thanks to Xlink-Kai but the servers don't seem to be as good as the original
xbox servers and not every mode is populated which sucks..

What I really like to see is a halo collectors edition xbox one, I had the translucent blue original xbox that came with halo 2 as I thought that was pretty cool. But that may come along with Halo 5 as is tradition with Xboxs and limited editions.

The most recent VGChartz data has xbox one selling 52,180 in a week. At that rate, it wouldn't hit 8M sold in November 2014, as Cujo suggested, but in October 2015!

They had plenty of big deals around the launch of Titanfall too. Lets look at your prediction of sales:

1st 5.5 months of 2014 : 1.5M sold

2nd 5.5 months of 2014: 3.5M sold

Cujo: The price of the X1 console wasn't reduced. All that happened was the $500 w/Kinect was reduced to $400 without it. But if you bought one say, back in November you would have gotten a Kinext + a Game or perhaps even two for $450.

Thus a good part of the Xbox community is still looking for an actual price drop ON THE CONSOLE itself. If IMO- that happens then Halo will do well. With me being an exception. Why? Yet another IF which I want bore you with.

Halo will easily sell XB1 consoles, no doubt about it. A lot of gamers are still on the 360, a good portion are Halo fans and won't pass up the collection by November. This will be the last holiday hurrah for last Gen, holiday 2016 will be bare bones for
360, except for the usual suspects, CoD, Fifa, Madden, maybe AC. A good portion of gamers wait a year before purchasing a brand new console, the lineup along with Halo will sway a lot of people.

I agree with Epic Louie regarding Halo 5 Guardians; in terms of sales, I think it will surpass the Halo MC Collection, but only because so many people will have picked up the collection in the 1st place to either catch up with the series or for nostalgia
sake. Once they do that a great many of those same people will want to continue with Halo 5.
