Will the Halo MC Collection Break Sales Records?

One person said fair play, pretty nice, but that he wouldn't buy it.

One person said it looks fantastic, and wished Epic would remaster Unreal Tournament.

All of the other comments were either a dismissive "meh" or something more negative. But to be fair, you did link it on a PlayStation 4 forum.

There was one guy who kept going on about it, praising it, saying how important a game it was, and that it will be a system seller. But that person has an xbox one, and no PS4, so I'm not sure why he was there. That persons tag?

Halo Master Chief collection will sell well....But with COD,GTA V and other games coming this fall,i don't think it will break records.

 

I do think it's got the xbox community VERY interested. We will see as it gets closer and more and more details are released.

Key question for me.....HOW MUCH WILL IT COST???

If so.......this will sell REEEEEEALLLLLY well.

 

I'm guessing, a conservative estimate of 1.8 million copies. Liberal estimate, 2.5 million copies. H5 Guardians beta will sway most of the competitive Halo community so go ahead and throw another 100,000 onto each of those numbers. H5 itself I'm expecting
to break next-gen records to the tune of 4 million or more, maybe even beating Halo 4 at 6.1 million!

 

OK, just to (hopefully) clarify something on the 'visual upgrades'. After watching the video on XBL, the way I understand it is as follows. Halo: CE will be simply a re-release of Halo: CE Anniversary, which was originally done for the 360 (which will still
look awesome). Halo 2 will get the full re-master, or 'anniversary treatment'. However, one of the devs did say that they weren't re-touching the graphics for Halo 3, or Halo 4. Although he did comment that those 2 games did look a bit better because of the
X1's 1080p upscaling.

At least that's what I took from it. I'm still sold at 'MC Collection'.

 

Halo 3 and 4 won't suffer any FPS issues and will stay a stable 60. Any already-implemented mechanics will be improved like lighting on 3. However the textures and mechanics won't be touched, so 3 will look pretty dated. 4 should look pretty but 2 will steal
the show.

 

Not even close. Too many people are looking for games that will demonstrate the graphical power of the systems. Like remastered films on Blu Ray, these games will look better than ever before, but they won't hold a candle to games developed specifically
for the Xbox One. Nostalgia will be the driving force behind sales, and only a fraction of possible buyers will shell out for that alone.

 

For the past few months I was under the impression that we'd get a Halo 2 anniversary by November for $60. I did hear rumors of a full collection but no one knew how it would be priced, I thought they would release each over a period of time for $40-$50
each.

When the reveal finally happened, it was great. If I was willing to spend $60 to get Halo 2 again, the whole package with 1-3-4, that is a steal.

And the best part is that it isn't just a halfassed package, they have it all tied together so it feels like a cohesive game.

There are playlists that take us through all Campaigns, if we want to play all the stages with Warthogs, then do it.

Even the multiplayer votes can take us through each game. Want to play a map from 2, then go to 4, then to 1 and then to 3, do it.

This is literally a gift to Halo players past & present.

This compilation is a milestone and if this is to set the tone for the future of next-Gen packages of classic franchises, then this will be a great generation for gamers.

 

the prob with gpu engines is its ok having a engine but if the console cant take advantage of sed engine then it wont matter halo 3 and halo 4 will both run on there engines but both engines will be upgraded. halo 1 and halo 2 will look dif but multiplayer
will look like it did al them years ago

Really? All of that Halo action for just $60, that's an incredible deal

When I read the title "The Master Chief Collection", the price tag of $120 was the first thing that popped to my mind because from my experience with the Xbox 360; the price points are as follows...

(1) Regular Version = $60

(2) Limited Edition = $70

(3) Collector's Edition = 120

Also, when the word "Collection" gets added to a game here is what I see will be coming in regards to The MCC...

(1) The Halo Games

(2) A Halo Commemeration Book

(3) Some Kind of action figure, statue, or whatever

(4) Free DLC that you will only get with this version

(5) A nice box / whatever to hold all of this stuff in

I agree with Epic Louie regarding Halo 5 Guardians; in terms of sales, I think it will surpass the Halo MC Collection, but only because so many people will have picked up the collection in the 1st place to either catch up with the series or for nostalgia
sake. Once they do that a great many of those same people will want to continue with Halo 5.

 

Unless M can get a colossal number of X1's into peoples hands before November of this year. Halo: Master Chief Collection, and/or H5 (2016 or after) will not sell well, nor will they help to sell the X1.

So it all comes down for the Console to do it's magic in order to sell Halo, and not the other way around.
