Will/Should Xbox Kinectless come with voice commands?

I wouldn't mind them implemented the headset for kinect xbox ones but I would prefer them not to for kinectless ones.

Although if MS (or anyone) thought it would convert people to kinect I would be a supporter.

I should think you would have to repeat voice commands quite a lot with a kinectless XB1.....

With the release of the Kinectless sku, and voice commands being central to navigating the UI, I think we'll see mic voice command support very soon.

 

Sounds like people are upset there is a Kinectless version coming out... Oh, voice commands are for Kinect only now. Please. The Microphone could have easily been put in the XO instead of Kinect, but they decided they wanted to force the Kinect on consumers.
Voice commands would be useful, but the Kinect (i.e. Motion recognition) is useless to me.

 

I am not upset at kinctless version, and I am not upset if they have or don't have voice commands, its up to MS what they do.

I am interested in a discussion about what people would like and what they expect and the reasons for it.

 

I'm not upset one bit. If you have no use for kinect, you have no use for voice commands, so appeasing people that dont want kinect but want voice commands sgould be last on MS priority list.

 

I speak into the mic all the time and need to for Party Chat. Since the advent of Xbox Live, a headset and mic have been a commonsense and cost effective, integral part of the Xbox brand. Now just add in simple voice commands, and you have an added bonus.
No need for the $100 see-in-the-dark super camera, added to the $400 console.

 

I would venture a guess, no it will not come with voice commands. I suppose they could code a patch for voice commands to be accepted over your headset but you still wouldn't be able to use "Xbox On". But I hope they don't because nothing more annoying
than someone shouting "Xbox Record That" into your ear will you are racing. I'm looking at you GG... lol

 

You're correct, I don't have a use for Voice commands, especially since they're going to change the UI to be more "controller" friendly. Voice commands would probably be useful in "some" cases, but really, it's a gimmick, much like the Kinect. No worries.
I guess I won't be talking to my XO in my living room. Darn it all.

I'm sure they will do it. Is all it seems like people have to do lately is complain like babies and they get everything they want. The rest of just have to suffer.

 

Yes they should just release a 10$ usb microhpone that sits on top of the X1 for voive comands. And they should allow like PS4 for headset voice commands. They should have done this from the start but they where pushing the Kinect.

I am not a fan of voice commands but I feel less crazy speaking into a headset then yelling at my tv and it works better.

 

The whole point of kinect using voice is so you don't have to use a headset / microphone. It can also detect who is talking and using the 4 microphone array pick up the sound from that direction. Using the on board processor and memory it also does the DSP
processing offloading from the CPU. If it did not then you have to reserve more could cycles to kinect processing. Currently only 1 in ten cycles is reserved on the gpu for snap, apps and kinect.

 

The kinect doesn't know who is talking on my xbox, it will pick anyones voice in the room and apply it to my profile.

Its very annoying when your other half turns off your xbox when she wants to buy saying Xbox turn off > yes.

A lot of mobile phones have started using voice commands, so its only going to get better and used more IMO.

 

So, here we all sit. Enough griping for MS to release a Kinect less bundle, but people still wanting the features of the Kinect without the Kinect???? (Shakes head)......
