    Okay, I'm really frustrated. I haven't been able to sign in to my Xbox360 for months. I changed my Microsoft Account password, use 2-step authentication, generated the app password and nothing. I followed the steps several times and I even turned off the
    2-step verification and used my password. Nothing I do gets me signed in.

    Yes, I checked the spelling. The email and password work for all other Microsoft requirements. So what have I missed? I'm tired of playing as a guest.

    Will initializing setup erase everything? I would settle for starting over.

    Hey Cure, thanks for taking the time to fill out those bold questions! Looking at your post, the exact error message you're receiving looks a little unclear--can you please post what the screen says exactly? Also, to be sure, have you tried re-downloading
    your profile using the 'download profile' option in the sign-in menu?

    Profile keeps signing out

    Alright. There are a couple of things to try

    - First off, go to account.live.com . Sign in there and see if the site wants you to update your security proof information.

    - If you don't get prompted to update your proofs then we head back to the Xbox.

    - I have seen an issue where this code was caused when an initial setup failed. The user re-did the initial setup and cleared the error code up. Go to "Settings > System > Initial Setup" to re-run the process.

    - We can look at other solutions if that doesn't work.

    You should be putting the password in when you set up your network. If you're connecting wirelessly then it should have you choose your network name and then if you have a password on it then it should prompt you for it.

    If you have a lot of trouble with it though, if it's possible, try setting up a wired connection and see if that helps.
